Not Into Religion, But Something Strange Is Happening

I’ve never been into religion, actually, I’ve always disliked organized religion and what it represents. But over the past few months, something unexpected has happened. I’ve found myself sort of praying to a personal goddess, just quietly, on my own terms. And honestly? Since then, good things have been happening almost nonstop. The outcomes I want keep going my way, almost like magic.

I’m not sure if this is just a coincidence, my mind looking for patterns, or something deeper. Am I crazy for feeling this? Has anyone else experienced something like this, where your own kind of faith, totally outside traditional religion, somehow feels real and powerful?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Like most people, you confuse religion and faith. Keep your faith.

@friendlykinkster That's a good point!
@HorrorandMusic “Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is the belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence.”

@BlueSkyKing Who cares if it makes you happier
@HorrorandMusic My working adage is: If it’s not science, it’s superstition. I like living in an evidence based world, having no desire to embrace the warm blanket of myth and superstition.

The pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope fill me with more awe than stories of a talking burning bush.

@BlueSkyKing And I would agree with that too. And that's fine that you have no desire to embrace anything imaginative or supernatural or anything like that. But I also think it’s important to recognize that just because something doesn’t appeal to you personally, that doesn’t make it inherently worthless, delusional, or inferior. People draw inspiration, comfort, and even practical insight from things outside the purely literal or scientific.
@HorrorandMusic I don’t mind imagination, but knowing the difference between fact and fiction is important.

@BlueSkyKing I like to think I do which is why I question myself on these things.
