Why Do Some Keep Making Excuses When The Overwhelming Evidence Points To God?

If there was overwhelming evidence for god, there wouldn’t be so many religions.
It should be noted in “The ABC Murders” the solution to the case was in the fact the clues lacked a sensible pattern.
