Why do objects jump off shelves and counters in my house?

Over the years I have had MANY objects fly off shelves and counters for no reason. Most of the time it's happened in my bathroom, when I'm taking a bath. Like a few minutes ago a bottle of jojoba oil just flew off the counter and crashed on the floor for no reason.
It was sitting further back and nothing was near it. Several times I have had my blow dryer jump off the bathroom sink counter when I am in the tub. Another time I was in bed and a large space heater that had been sitting in the same spot on my bathroom sink for years flew across my bathroom and crashed on the floor.
One time I was looking in the bathroom mirror and a bottle of lotion levitated a few inches off the counter right in front of me! I picked it up out of the air and sat it back on the counter. Another time the same thing happened at my dining room table with a toothpick holder.
These things don't happen every day or even every week, but I have seen many objects over the years jump off counters and shelves. It's not just me either- other people at my house has seen the same thing.
What exactly is happening here? Poltergeist? Dead relatives visiting? Me somehow doing telekinesis?
It doesn't scare me at all, I am just curious if anyone else has had this happen?

Well, since you know you've got a little poltergeist action going on, plan for it. Don't buy glass bottles, and invest in one of those over the toilet cabinets, so that you can stow things for which you presently have no storage, and tie the cabinet door handles with elastic hair ties. Usually activity like that originates with a person living in the house, so consider the possibility that you might be doing it without knowing it.

Always unplug appliances if you are in the bath. Be extra careful. Remember that the more you worry about it, or obsess over it, the worse it is going to get.

I had something like that happen to me in a house in Michigan. I reached for my water glass, and it moved away from me across the kitchen counter. The countertop was tiled, so there was no way it was the glass sliding on a sealed base of water. In that instance, it was probably a ghost, because I did hear moaning from the bathroom one night.

@4meAndyou how exciting!! I think it's so fun when things like that happen!

@Mardrae It won't be fun if your heater flies across the bathroom and lands in the tub while you are in it. Plan ahead. Make sure you are safe.

@4meAndyou I didn't think of that, but at least the extension cord would fall out hopefully. The heater has jumped off the counter by itself, and my blow dryer has too, more than once. Thankfully it came unplugged when it fell off.

@Mardrae Just don't crawl into the bath with ANYTHING plugged in, in the bathroom.

@4meAndyou lol. I may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but I am definitely not that stupid.
