Christ wasn't God, but he did bring the truth of how to set on a path to find God. Christ wasn't murdered because he was God, he was murdered because he brought the ugly truth. He was very much a great prophet though.

According to whom?

@GodSpeed63 Nope. Not how it works. You made a positive assertion that he was in fact God, someone else denied it, now you have to prove it.

I think he's under the impression that I am just repeating some "religious" belief that he hasn't heard of.

@calicuz I've noticed he thinks everybody's perspective on the Christian religion is necessarily religious.

In all honesty I have come to this conclusion by re-reading the scriptures with an open and unbiased mind.
I, like so many, grew up in the Christian Church, I was fully indoctrinated and believed everything I was taught and believed it whole heartedly.
After stepping away from orginized religion, and reading the scriptures it appears to me that Christ never claimed to be God, but did bring a true path to finding God, and it was these teachings that got him murdered.
When a certain religion dominates a culture or civilization, that religion gets angry when a person brings the truth of common sense. That dominating religion fears losing control of the people. Which the religion of the time of Christ had.

@calicuz He said and proved over and over he is God in the flesh. In the old testament Moses asked God what is your name, and God said "I AM" is my name. In the new testament Jesus was asked who he is. He said
58“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered,
“before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

Yeah, in the book. Now what proof do you have that the book is accurate?

Not so. We know that God doesn't change.
In the Old Testament, we find God being very direct. "Don't eat from this tree," Where is your brother?" "Build this boat," "Free my people." Then in the New Testament "God" went from speaking directly to man to speaking in "parables."
That alone should tell you that Christ wasn't God. While he may not have been God, he was a great Prophet who deserves our respect.

Yes, another interesting point. God doesn't need to "prove" anything. Mankind keeps forgetting who created who. Why does God need to do anything, especially prove he is God?
It's actually the opposite, Man will prove God to exist through Science. Even when one sets out to prove God doesn't exist through science, that one will only end up proving He does in fact exist.
But as human beings, we must also respect those who don't believe in God. That is their right.

He already has proven He is God and there is no other besides Him.
