"So the Lord was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart."

How very interesting. I was unaware that God made mistakes.

Just one of the many ridiculous things in the Bible.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn God gives us a very clear warning how he saved Noah but killed those who did not follow God. Don't be foolish like the time of Noah. They mocked Noah when he built an ark in the desert.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa Except there is no evidence to support a world wide flood or that event ever happening. God, being almighty, should have know how we would turn out since he is omnipotent; he wouldn't be grieved. Just another indication that these flood myths were written by humans and not the actions of a powerful God. No doubt you will inundate me with biblical quotes in your rebuttal and convoluted logic, but remember, I don't believe in the Bible so it will not be relevant to me.

Ezekiel 36:22 “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. 23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.

24 “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."

@Carazaa Lol, did you even read my response?
@JimboSaturn massive floods happen all the time. it was probably a natural occurrence there and Noah decided to be prepared this time

I am not arguing about whether or not the Bible is true, because that is ridiculous and pointless. I am quoting God's reason for why he does what he does, because he plainly tells us.

The devil in the garden of Eden said "Did God really say that? " I will never try to argue if God really said or did something. It is insulting to God. If you told your kids to write your biography, and people were writing later "I don't believe he wrote that, and it never really happened like that" That would be insulting to you. God has proven in many ways that he told his kids exactly what to write.

Moses wrote exactly what God told him to write word for word in Moses language, Hebrew. God was hard on Moses and the Israelites but he loved them, saved them, and then punished them for sinning by dispersing them and he told them 4000 years ago that he would in the very end gather them again. He has. He told us when the Muslim Temple would be on the Temple mount and all sacrifices would cease, it did. and when Jesus would come.

Jesus told us what will happen next, that he would be raised from the dead, that he would send us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and give us wisdom, and he did, and what would happen in the middle east, and the birthpangs right before he comes to make a new heaven and a new earth. If everything has happened in the middle East, just exactly to the day as he told us in the book of Daniel, and to all the prophets and it has come true to the day, we know God wrote it.

Many terrible things happen in the world, but God is getting our attention, because he loves us and if we trust in him he will save us from harm.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa Except I don't believe in the Bible so your arguements falls on deaf ears. You have to be able to appeal to truth without use of the Bible to have any affect on me.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn
So how did Moses know what would happen in 1948?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa He didn't, there was no Moses. You can interpret the Bible to mean anything in hindsight, people have being doing that for 2,000 years.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn Then you haven't studied the Bible and you simply are ignorant what it says!

How Did Daniel know that the Muslims would take over the Temple Mount exactly year 688?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa He didn't. That is your interpretation. Not all Christians believe that. When doing predictions people tend to read their own situation into the prophesy. If you asked someone Daniel's, or Moses, or John's prophesy's meant 1,000 years ago, they would have given entirely different answers.

I have studied the Bible, I just don't believe in it anymore.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn How did Jesus know that the Sun would be so hot exactly 2000 years after he rose from the dead, and people would be traveling back and forth very quickly every day like never before 2000 years after he rose, and that the gospel would go out by "air" to every nation right before the end?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@CarazaaHe didn't. Jesus never existed and he never predicted anything like that. That is your interpretation and no other Christians interpret any of the New Testament that way.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn
Don't be ignorant what the Bible said would happen many thousands of years ago. It has all happened to the day! You have made up your mind being deceived by Satan that it isn't true. Just as Adam and Eve were deceived. The Bible scrolls were here before all this ever happened. I have many Bibles in my home that are many hundreds of years old, and none of the things that Jesus said in the last generation had happened at that time.

My own grandma told me "These things have not happened yet, but if you see these things that Jesus warned about then you will be the last generation and then you will see him coming in the skies. She was waiting for the signs, but none of the signs had happened except the Jews being gathered together and given their land in 1948. She lived before 1948 so when that happened she thought that all the other signs would happen in her lifetime too, but they didn't happen.

But they have all happened in MY life so I know Jesus WILL come in my lifetime. The first sign of the last generation is deception!
"What will be the sign of the end and of your coming"
Jesus answered, "See that you are not deceived, for many will be deceived"
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa Again, I don't believe in Satan or God so your words have no affect on me. Can you speak of any truth outside the Bible? It strikes me as mind control if you cannot think for yourself on anything at all.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn Don't be ignorant. I have 2 Master degrees! I have studied the Bible in detail for over 50 years. I do not agree with churches, that we will be raptured before Jesus comes, Jesus will come and it will be too late for you to repent then. So please do not be deceived and ignorant!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa Of course I do not believe I am ignorant, I simply don't believe in God. You have told me you have your Master's degree in science but you have been unable to tell me what university or your specific field.
Carazaa · F
@JimboSaturn San Diego State University! And a private university.I am not going to go into detail about my degrees because I am confidential here.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa So some private religious university? So your science degree was from a religious school? I don't think detail about your degrees would give anything away, there are many people who have gone to San Diego State University over it's life.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Carazaa No worries, I have no quarrel with you.
Carazaa · F
I have a degree from both, I have never gone to a religious school ever. But I have taught at 2 religious schools and a public school and they were all fabulous! I love science! I am a super curious person and come from a family with MD's, and PHD's.
