The Lie: The Burden Of Proof Is On The Believers The Truth: The Burden Of Proof Is On The Skeptics

Skeptics keep saying that the burden of proof is on us, when in reality, the burden of proof is on them.

It has already been established that God lives and His Word is Truth. Nobody can change that.

It has already been established that He alone is the one true God and nobody can change that.

This is what God says about Himself:

“I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Genesis 17:1
I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.” Exodus 3:14
And God said to Moses, “I am Yahweh—‘the Lord.’ Exodus 6:2
“I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26
“I am merciful.” Exodus 22:27
“Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.” Exodus 34:6
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalm 46:10
“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.” Isaiah 42:8
I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,” says the Lord. Isaiah 43:11-12
“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:13
This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the Lord, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?” Isaiah 44:24
Jesus answered, “I am. And in the future, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of God, the Powerful One, and coming on clouds in the sky.” Mark 14:62
“I am the light of the world. The person who follows me will never live in darkness but will have the light that gives life.” John 8:12
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die. John 11:25
Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.” John 14:6
The Lord God says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the One who is and was and is coming. I am the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

This is what God had said about Himself and what Jesus had said about Himself. What they have said had already been established as Truth and nobody can ever change it.

What has been written in the Word of God as mankind's history has been established as man's history and nobody can change it.

God has proven and is still proving Himself to mankind and nobody can change it.

Now, it is up to the skeptic to disprove what God has already established to be the Truth.

The burden of evidence (not "proof") lies with whomever makes a claim, whether that claim be positive (ex. "God exists") or negative (ex. "God doesn't exist"). It isn't up to the sceptic to demonstrate anything, because he/she isn't the one who is trying to convince anyone of anything.

@Cassie2083 Sadly, the "claim" is made by believers... That God actually exists. If I made the claim that I could ride a killer whale across the pacific, it would not be up to others to prove I couldnt. It would be up to me to demonstate that I could. You claim Jesus as the son of God. Lets see him walk across my swimming pool..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman I'm not making any claims here, I'm just responding to what GodSpeed63 wrote.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Cassie2083 But the claim is the actually existance. Not the non existance..😷
@Cassie2083 That's just it. Nobody's trying to convince anybody of anything. He simply shared his beliefs on a post and then skeptics came in and wanted to argue about it asking for proof AND claiming that he was wrong. We don't need to have confirmation from others of our beliefs. We already know what we believe and why. We don't need to prove or justify those to anyone. If out of the blue, some make the claim that God is ficticious, then they need give their reasons for believing so, at least, and why, because when they are shown the Word of God and what GOD says is true, they come up with the excuse that scripture cannot be used as evidence. That is absolutely ridiculous because scientists use data to prove their point so that tells me they don't want to know God or who he is. God meant the Bible as evidence. I think if people don't want to know who God is, they'll use any excuse in the world, but Jesus said to share the gospel, since His mission was accomplished here on Earth and he ascended into heaven. And yes, not all will believe, that's a given. That's a choice only they can make and I hope they will listen to the Holy Spirit when he calls on them.

Jesus gave his ultimate best and MORE than proved Himself to mankind, which was his own life so that he could save us from the condemnation that sin placed on us. Yet sinful man demands more. Think about this. Even though Jesus came in person and did miracles right before people's eyes, somestillrejected him. I don't know how they could have missed it seeing the blind get their sight back and the lame to walk again. So what does this tell us? Jesus said even if one were kind of to come back from the dead and confirm that Jesus is alive, even then, some wouldn't believe. Jesus already proved himself so we don't need proof. We need faith! People can stand around and argue whether or not there is a God or not and if he's alive, all they want, but they can't see the trees for the forest. God didn't leave us to guess how to be saved. We either want to be saved or we don't, and if we do, I don't think we're going to be arguing about every little thing that we don't know, but rather than recognize and appreciate and be grateful for what Goddidtell us and show us, which was the most important thing of all... how to be saved. That's all we really need to know to get to heaven. It is enough. Jesus is enough, yet some will argue until they lose that opportunity, and wouldn't that be foolish, to lose your own soul just because you had to have all the answers.
@whowasthatmaskedman If you make the claim that something doesn't exist, then you must have your reasons for making that claim, whether the reasons are good or bad. You have to justify that claim, the claim that "x doesn't exist".
Only agnostics are exempt from having to justify their position.
@Cassie2083 That works both ways. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Agnostics really DO have to justify their position because it is still a "belief".
@LadyGrace How can neutrality, a complete lack of an opinion, need justification? If I say "I don't know, and I'm not willing to commit due to inadequate data/information", then no reasonable person should expect me to justify that, because I already have.
@Cassie2083 Because agnostics belief, is they believe there is no God. And that's fine. It's still considered a belief and that's what it is. One either believes or they don't, and they have a reason for it, either way. I'm not saying they have to justify it. But if they're wanting to accuse someone of not telling the truth then they need to give the reason why they think that person is not telling the truth. After all, they are the ones that brought the subject up, not Christians, because they are already secure in what they believe and they don't need to prove it to anybody, just because they've made a statement sharing their beliefs. And just because they share their beliefs, in no way are they saying "I'm right and you're wrong." They're simply sharing beliefs. But if someone wants to go on the attack and call them a liar or judge them or curse them, then the accuser should back up the reasons why they think followers of Christ are lying and why they think themselves right.
@LadyGrace WRONG! Agnostics just don't know whether there is a God or not. ATHEISTS claim there is no God. See the difference?
@Cassie2083 I do. But that still falls under the fact that they believe in "something". Like I said, one either believes or they don't but it's still a belief. They are choosing not to believe in a certain thing, so it's still a belief and deduction.

@Cassie2083 Try driving your car that doesnt exist to work. See if that gets you there any quicker than walking. Now justify your belief in your car to your Boss. It the universe were faith had calories you make be able to eat it. But it doesnt exist .. And no amount of faith is going to make you fat..😷

My friends, it's already been established that God lives and His Word is Truth. The evidence is all around you; the heavens declare His Glory and the earth His handiwork. We can only show the evidence of God but God has already proven Himself to mankind.

@GodSpeed63 I dont see it. I see natural selection, evolution and entropy at work. The laws of physics.. No progress but science and the hand of man in an uncaring universe.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman trial and error is more proof than a 2000 year old second hand story. Translated numerous times edited even more and censured or aspects removed so many many times. The word of God is thus the word of man even after just the first revision. Assuming it ever was the word of god
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jehova I am actually not trying to tear down anyones faith here. If it brings them comfort, thats fine. I admit its just possible that an unseeable, immeasurable, unknowable afterlife may exist. I simply dont see how it could, why it should or, assuming it does, why the bearded old guy (white of course) should care about us at all, let alone need our homage. The idea of a soul. is like saying "what happens to the beam of light when the battery in the torch goes flat?" Its just not happening. But some need that belief. It helps..😷
jehova · 31-35, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I get it ppl need to believe in something. I don't. So I don't pretend others faith is going to convince me I tried for awhile I see through it so easily. That being said it is conceivable that God created the situation that evolved into humans and the world as it exists now. I'm unconvinced and I know science will eventually explain it.
@jehova Don't be so sure. That "2000 yr. old second hand story" you mentioned, is just as effective today, as it was then and even more so, since there are thousands receiving Christ as their Savior. What some don't realize, is that careful Bible study shows that the Bible is more up-to-date than tomorrow's newspaper. There's no other book like it and there never will be because it prophesies well beyond today, into the future and what people don't realize because they don't study their bible, is that all the Old Testament prophecies been fulfilled up to this date if one will take the time to look them up and not be so lazy. And not only does the bible tell about our future with 100% accuracy, just as the other fulfilled prophecies are 100% accurate, no other book is led by the Holy Spirit like God's Word, which proves itself in its prophecies. This speaks highly and unequivocally of the power of the Holy Spirit working in God's word and through God's Word for us today. No other book on this planet can predict the future by the Holy Spirit, like the Bible. That tells us that it truly is the Word of God. No other person or book can make that claim pure 100% accurate prophecy. All the other prophecies have come to pass with 100% accuracy, from witchcraft or anything else, except the Bible. Not only does it tell us what's going to happen in the future, it gives the greatest detail, the mark of perfection that comes only from the Holy Spirit, no matter who would say differently. You know, people can mock, laugh, disbelieve, or curse God all they want, but that doesn't mean a thing, because that won't change God's plans, and the Bible is right...

"The fool says in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that is good." Psalm 14

"For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul?" Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:34-38

God has not left man to guess how to have salvation or get to heaven. So he really needs to think before he speaks because he will have absolutely no excuse, the day he comes face to face with God in eternity, for missing heaven, because God told us exactly how to have eternal life with God and in heaven. A soul is an awfully precious thing to dismiss, gamble with, or leave to chance. And it's an awful shame that arrogant man doesn't realize that God never sends anybody to hell. They go there by their own choice, in neglecting God's Plan of Salvation that he dearly devised, to save man from hell, but in their stubbornness and arrogance, some will still blame God for their own wickedness and sin, thinking they know better than God...thus, missing heaven. We are responsible for our own actions. It is not God that causes man to sin.

The Bible says that Satan is the author of confusion, not God. It is man that has listened to Satan's lies, also twisting and perverting what God has told us could save us, into various forms of error and confusion. Foolish men simply refuse to accept God as he has revealed himself. But the Apostle Paul describes unbelievers as having confined God's revelation to a box of their own making and piling on the lid of the box, their own sins. The unbeliever's problem is not the sparsity of revelation, but the suppression of it. Instead of worshiping the God who made man in His own image, they made gods in their image. They went even further than that, making their own Gods and worshiping idols, rebelling against God, who was only trying to save them. Man knows when he's doing wrong and so did they, but ignored God anyway. Sin in itself, brings death and judgement against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. Romans 1:18 As men practice these things, they are getting what they sowed, receiving in their own persons, the do penalty of their error. Romans 1:27. Evil men want nothing to do with God and so God removes his restraining hand and gives them the desires of their heart, which is sin and leads them to hell. 2 Thessalonians 1:9. Paul has proven that God is righteous and just in condemning evil and rejecting the revelation of God for salvation. God did not come into this world to condemn the world but to save it. Man's willful sin and rejection of God and His plan to save him, was not sufficient for salvation, but brought on their own condemnation. Man mistakenly thinks he knows better than God and is smarter than He.

Romans 1:20 - "For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
@jehova
trial and error is more proof than a 2000 year old second hand story. Translated numerous times edited even more and censured or aspects removed so many many times. The word of God is thus the word of man even after just the first revision. Assuming it ever was the word of god

That excuse is so old and tiring, it's not funny and not only is it outdated, that theory comes from those who have not read their Bible and studied it.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible is not flawed. Edited, yes, a few minimal changes today, but never enough to change the message God wanted to desperately get out to mankind; that being how to be saved and get to heaven. Instead of people trying to pick apart the Bible and disbelieve God, they should realize that the most important thing to concentrate on, is how to get to heaven. If we miss that, we've missed everything.

This is what happens when people don't read their Bible and actually study it. What's even more ludicrous is that some believe God is to blame for man's sins. God came to save man from man's own sins. That would be like me going to rob a bank and then blaming you for it. What nonsense and irrational thinking.
@jehova I don't know what makes you think people need something to believe In. They don't. However, God wanted to make himself known to mankind, so he gave man a conscience so that he would know there is a God and also moral senses, the difference between right and wrong. He wanted to have fellowship with man, it's not that he had to have a relationship with man, nor was needy. He loves creating and His creation, and He wanted to have fellowship with with us, so he made us aware of himself. Just because man thinks he needs certain things, don't mistake that to mean GOD needs certain things, because he needs absolutely nothing. He is complete in Himself. God doesn't think nor reason, the way man does. His ways and thoughts are far higher, better, wiser, and smarter, than ours. There is none like Him! His thinking, FAR BEYOND ours, superior and perfect. God is incapable of error or sinning.

Jeremiah 10:6 - "There is none like you, Oh Lord; You are great, and great is Your name in might."
@LadyGrace That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that ❤️😘
@Cassie2083 Humblest thanks, my dear. 🙏❤🤗

@LadyGrace in 2010 a single sentence was removed from the book of Genesis, that God told 'mankind' that man ought never limit the growth of any seeded plant. The word of g-d was literally removed from the bible. Yet it's the unchanged word of god f off all these self righteous christians interpreting a most likely fictitious story assembled and published in 836ad. Look into. Don't blindly follow book ppl ask u for money to read with them. Idiots!!
@jehova What are you talking about? Nothing was removed from Genesis, and there was never anything in it about "limiting the growth of seeded plants".
jehova · 31-35, M
@Cassie2083 then ur a liar too the only part of the bible I've ever read was the book of Genesis, the book allegedly written by God. Largely illiterate circular logic but still I was willing to read that and prior to 2010 that sentence was in it it isn't anymore if u find a bible printed prior to that change I'm betting u it is in those texts. Or do the religious not willingly question the things poured down their throats? Open yo eyes
@jehova I am NOT a liar! I'm in the middle of reading Genesis right NOW (ESV), and you're wrong!
