If Skeptics Claim That God Doesn't Live, Why Do They Hate Him So Much?

For years skeptics claim that God doesn't live and yet, they get their noses out of joint when we share the love of Christ. Why?

How can Skeptics hate someone they claim isn't there? Why do they hate us for sharing Him on here? What's the big deal?

Another thing is: they've been hollering for proof that God lives and when they get it, they reject it? Where's the logic in that?

And yet, when we challenge them to present proof of what they're claiming is true, they get their noses out of joint in frustration and start to mock and ridicule us hoping we will go away. We will not go away.

Why can't the skeptics prove their claims are true instead of arguing with us about them? Is it really that hard for them to do?

Remember, in a discussion, we try to get at what's right but in an argument, we try to get at who's right. In this fallen world of ours there is only the Truth of God and the lies of men. You share the Truth, you're right - you push the lie, you're wrong. It's that simple.

They hate because they want to be their own god.
@HoraceGreenley Wow! There it is, folks. The dumbest fucking thing I'm going to read all day.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@HoraceGreenley First off, dipshit, it's a LOT more complicated than just saying I'm an atheist.

Secondly, moron, where was God during the Holocaust? Sleeping? On vacation? Laughing and eating popcorn?

@LordShadowfire Apparently you have never heard of Free Will

What in religion isn’t full of shit ?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage What about atheists isn't full of shit?
DocSavage · M
@HoraceGreenley
What about it ?
Atheism makes no claims. Most will tell you they don’t believe in god, because there’s not enough evidence for a supernatural entity.
Those who actually say there is no god , are expressing their opinion. Feel free to debate it if you want.
Other than that, what influence does it have that changes or challenges anything ? Religion has often been used as justification for policy. Atheist don’t do that. They usually argue equality.

What makes you think we’re not ?
Humans make their own laws and morality. They decide what is right and wrong. God has no input on it. Any judgement or punishment comes after the fact, after the winning side has settled the matter. You give god far too much credit.

@DocSavage
Truth hurts
Yes it does, Doc, which is why so many skeptics, like yourself, hate God.
DocSavage · M
@GodSpeed63
No, we hate god, because religion promises so much, that it can’t deliver.
God gets the blame, because he represents the religion, even though he doesn’t actually exist.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage That's how you get moral relativism.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage Seems illogical
DocSavage · M
@HoraceGreenley
Why ?
Over the centuries, science and society have changed the way we think. Science has provided realistic answers that don’t require supernatural entities. Acts that were once called both illegal and sinful, are now considered human rights.
Religion is outdated, and seen as repressive. Who else are you going to blame ?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage Now you're making science your religion. There are things science can't answer.

You're looking at religion superficially.

Plus, religion offers ethics, which science does not.

And a manufactured, invisible , supernatural, omnipresent entity, is the sensible alternative ?
Plus, religion offers ethics, which science does not.
Science isn’t in the ethics business. And those ethics are a social construct, they don’t come from god. They’re man made, and man is that which empowers them. It’s mutually beneficial.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage Religion requires faith. It's nature cannot prove proof. Religion understands that.

My point is that science has limits.

Don't confuse fundamentalism with religion. For instance the Bible is allegory.

Besides, Religion provides better ethical guidance than people making it up as they go along.
@HoraceGreenley Yes, science does admit to having limits. But it’s still the best methodology we have and it works far more than it fails. Most religion has magical claims in the dogma and I don’t tolerate that.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueSkyKing Again, separate fundamentalism from allegory.

Depends on what you want from it. Doesn’t it.
For example, I believe in abiogenesis and evolution as opposed to anything to do with biblical creation. Science supports them, but I’ve argued with creationists who reject it all due to faith. They want the creator, along with all the afterlife promises that come with it.
When you actually have to choose between facts and faith, then you are forced to the conclusion that faith is just wishful thinking.
What good does it do you to lie to yourself ? Some will cherry pick, and take what they consider the best of both.worlds. But that’s not a difference. I go with the evidence.anything else is dishonest and self defeating.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@DocSavage Again, creationists are a form of fundamentalism. Clearly a creation myth if believed as fact, is not allegory in the mind of the believer. But obviously it's nonsense.

I don't know what to do with a creationist or other fundamentalists. But rejecting religion and God is not necessary either.
@HoraceGreenley Nobody is rejecting your invisible friend. You just can't seem to prove your positive assertion that he exists.
