Let me rant - You may have your opinion but I also have mine
December First.
Even though Christmas decorations have been on display since September in many stores, today marks the official beginning of the Christmas ......madness.
And yes, I know very well what the true meaning of Christmas is about but it seems the rest of the world feels this is the time where craziness must be accepted, loud music and noise is the standard anywhere you go, and traffic jams , crowds and chaos have to be part of the so called celebration.
You see, I view Christmas under a different light, to me is a time to regroup, to reflect on the year gone by, to spread some cheer to those who are alone or ill and to enjoy quiet times with family and friends. It is more of a spiritual time for me , time to reconnect with myself and time to plan for the future......................but nowadays it seems to be almost impossible due to the fact that even though I want it to be that way, I happen to live in a world where we are faced with things like incessant commercialism,crowds, noise and chaos that are hard to avoid and, the most annoying one of all, the fakery of the Christmas spirit that has become nothing more than a race to overspend to buy the most expensive gifts and throw the loudest parties.
I don´t hate the celebration of Christmas but I do hate what this time has become.
I can´t wait for January to come around, it is going to be a long 30 days but hopefully I´ll be able to get through this month and enjoy more quiet days in 4 weeks.
