Do you believe in the power of prayer?

There are some things I've been praying for my whole life that haven't come true, so now I'm getting to the point where I think prayer is for finding the strength to accept terrible things as they are rather than for changing the circumstances. Have you ever had a prayer answered?

I'm not atheist but at the same time, I believe in the power of positivity and mindset. Prayer is kind of a strong word because you can't pray away someone's lost limb, like another SW user said. It's never been proven. Prayer can work maybe to give you strength to endure certain things such as you say, it works as a sort of mantra to yourself.

@SatanBurger what do you think of toxic positivity?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@blindbob I think it has its merits but anything can be toxic in large doses.

@SatanBurger Yeah, that's true. The main problem with toxic positivity is that it doesn't allow you to face a situation as it is because you're in a cloud of what it could be.

@blindbob So is toxic negativity more your thing? I hope not but I agree about toxicity of anything.

@SatanBurger negativity is always toxic, but realism isn't. it's just facing the facts.

@blindbob I'd agree about being realistic but then again, you can be too realistic to the point where you get stuck in not making a decision because fear is wrapped up into failing. Analysis paralysis is the literal term and it's very real.

@SatanBurger it sounds like rumination. at some point you have to choose something and go with it.
