Do you believe in the power of prayer?

There are some things I've been praying for my whole life that haven't come true, so now I'm getting to the point where I think prayer is for finding the strength to accept terrible things as they are rather than for changing the circumstances. Have you ever had a prayer answered?

I think prayer is an expression of hopes and dreams to God.. i don't think he’s obligated to answer or fulfill them .. i mean look at Abraham waited a hundred years for a kid and the Israelites were slaves for ages while praying to God.. so.. personally I'm not obsessed with prayer..

Venting i guess? I don't think it accomplishes anything it’s just one’s expression of what the feel and hope and want.. @blindbob
