Because i'm not convinced that god exists. The evidence and arguments attempting to prove its existence are, in my opinion, insufficient to accept the assertion.
Science is not competent to address a supernatural claim like god and therefor no thoughtful person would attempt to use science to prove that god doesn't exist...which is why this ridiculous Christian straw man continues to amuse me.

The fossil record show's a stratified continuum of organisms starting with less derived organisms and going towards more derived organisms exactly as evolution predicts and in DIRECT contradiction of what the bible tells us about the flood.
Were the global flood true then we would see all manner of life intermingled in the same layers and not conforming to evolutionary science and geologic time. And yet we [i]never[/i] find a dog in the same layer as a dimetrodon, a pterodactyl in the same layer as a pelican or an whale in the same layer as a mosasaur.

You will now refute that fact or, by your own logic, you'll find yourself agreeing with me😎
