He has every right to have high standards of behavior. We should be loving, but we aren't.

@Pikachu Hm, I think you don't know what God is talking about. He says "The heart of man is desperately wicked" He knows your heart. Jesus says if you are angry then its like murder in your heart. You accuse God of anger, but do you know what he knows? Of course not. Like I said he is angry for a reason, and "the wages of sin is death". God has high standards, and you don't. Except if someone hurts you! If someone kills your family God wants you to forgive. Are you like that? Or would you feel like you have a right then to be angry? This is something only saved people seem to get because only saved people feel terribly sinful, and see God as Holy. To understand his justice we need to understand Him.
@Carazaa
Ah, you're into Jeremiah i see lol
But you're still not addressing the issue i have raised here.
It's not that god doesn't have a right to be mad at his bad, sinful creations.
It's that if he always knew that this was what would happen...why would he be so angry about it?
It's like leaving your wallet on the table at the annual Kleptomaniac convention and then getting mad that someone took it

Not sure what your contention is. You've read Isaiah, you've started Jeremiah. You know how angry god is about the idol worshiping. You know how brutally he will punish the people of Jerusalem and Judah.
My question is how can god know from the beginning of time that, that was going to happen and still be so over the top angry about it.
I mean if he's got to mete out his so called justice then so be it, but not sure how an omniscient being can be so angry ( a fire that will burn against them forever) about something he knew was going to happen.
Rather undermines the claim of omniscience imo

He gets "way too angry" really? God has justice and sins have consequences, and people have choices to sin or not. The Lord Almighty, Jesus who redeems us, He is our husband, we are his bride. God knows everything but that does not mean he isn't angry when we sin. If your wife tells you she will go and commit adultery, will you be any less angry when she does even if you knew she would? Of course not. God has feelings.
I for one never want to make him cry, even though I fall short and I feel terrible when I do. I will be true to him forever. He saved me, and takes care of me.
God said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will be true to me”;
and so he became their Savior.
9 In all their distress he too was distressed,
and the angel of his presence saved them.[a]
In his love and mercy he redeemed them;
he lifted them up and carried them
all the days of old.
10 Yet they rebelled
and grieved his Holy Spirit.
So he turned and became their enemy
and he himself fought against them. Isaiah

@Carazaa Nah, weak analogy.
In that case you would break up with that person.
A better analogy would be getting married to a person who tells you they're going to see other people still. If you know that going into it then you have no right to be angry when they do exactly what you knew they would do.
Similarly god is just way to upset for someone who knew what was going to happen.
So i think (granting the conceit that the god exists in the first place) this god would not be an omniscient one. Or if it is omniscient, it is irrational.

@Carazaa if I'm Yahweh's bride, how come he never buys me nice things or tells me how pretty I look?
Carazaa · F
@basilfawlty89 You have to ask him I guess. He tells me all the time.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M

Carazaa · F
@basilfawlty89 And you've been faithful?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
