"Free will" seems to be the go-to answer to every challenge to Christian belief and doctrine, but it can only go so far as an answer. Is free will really free if God knows every action ahead of time? Is it really free will if our fate is predestined?

It's even trotted out as an excuse for why god doesn't just show us al he's real.

@SW-User Because Predestination is not absolute.

@Amyrakunejo Depends on what you believe, I guess. Catholics believe that people are predestined for heaven, but not for damnation (cf. with Calvinists who believe people are predestined for both). They believe that you cannot change your fate but you also cannot divine it while alive.
