Does this verse in Isaiah acknowledge the existence of other gods? It seems explicitly to do so. If not, why not? [Spirituality & Religion]

In that day the LORD will punish the gods in the heavens
and the proud rulers of the nations on earth.

Isaiah 24:21

The people on here would say it's the Gods in people hearts they replace the real God with. But nope it says the ones in the heavens. Opps. Checkmate xtians.

Yeah it seems pretty explicit. Because in other places the bible makes it clear that some gods that people worship are false gods and just idols made of wood or stone.

But the LORD is going to punish the gods in the heavens...
Hmm.
@Pikachu Also seems like a really bad move. After all that is millions of gods against one.
@canusernamebemyusername

lol maybe. But Yahweh is the best and strongest one apparently
@Pikachu I've thought for a long time that if God did go to war like this he most likely lost. It would certainly explain why there is so much evil if he is the good guy. The good guys lost. Plus his own kingdom suffered a civil war he couldn't resolve peacefully. And now he is fighting millions of other gods. I don't see a way to win this one. Lol

Yeah if we're assuming this is a history and this history book is written from a biased point of view it makes a lot more sense.
God is not omnipotent. Powerful but not omnipotent and he struggles against other powers in the heavens.
@Pikachu And struggling is not a sign of omnipotence. Which means there is a chance to lose too.
But yes very human sounding when they thought the only way to deal with an enemy was to go to war. No diplomacy at all.

But yes very human sounding

lol this sums up my experience of the bible.
