We can trust Gods word with our life. It is the only way for a successful life!
@Carazaa the people of those time who witnessed those things were very wise. 😇
Carazaa · F
@littlepuppywantanewlife It was just 8 people, Moses, His wife, three kids and their wives.
@Carazaa can you tell me something? It's not an argument but just a question.

People believed in Moses and then after Jesus, things changed. Why was there a difference?
Carazaa · F
@littlepuppywantanewlife There is one God and he doesn't change. its all written by God's inspiration. In John 1, it says that Jesus created everything. Jehovah and Jesus and the Holy Spirit is one God.

The old testaments stories is God explaining how he helped the Jews out of Egypt and freed them from slavery. He told them that He will not tolerate any sinning and what his standards are. They couldn't keep his standards so he came down himself to help the world. Out of that people came Jesus, the lamb that takes away the sins of the world. Its all one story, a beautiful story how God helps us.

Members of other religions say the same of their gods and often offer examples to prove what they say. I see no reason to treat what they say as less valid that what you say. I know Atheists, Pagans, Muslims, Sikhs, et al. who all have happy successful lives with your god nowhere in sight.

@littlepuppywantanewlife Have you read Romans? It explains the change very effectively. The fact is the law of Moses was never meant for people to find salvation with. Salvation only comes through faith. If it were possible to keep all the laws of Moses without exception you still would not enter Heaven. You would only have done your job. You already received your reward with your life. However to enter Heaven you need a Gift called Grace and you get that through Faith. Moses entered Heaven not because he kept the law (He didn't keep the law he killed a man). Moses got into heaven through a Faith not of his own.
@Carazaa @hippyjoe1955 ok cool! I am not a Christian so I don't know much. Thanks for telling me. :)
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@littlepuppywantanewlife No time like the present to become a Christian. It is the only way of salvation.
@hippyjoe1955 I am not going to change my religion.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@littlepuppywantanewlife Not yet. Never is a long time and one day just like I did almost 40 years ago you will find yourself looking for the answer your religion doesn't offer and then you will turn to the ONE and ONLY Living God and in Him ask for forgiveness and salvation. Then you will wonder what took you so long to change.
@hippyjoe1955 I respect whatever you say. I come from a religion which is very old and probably answers everything. Also you don't need to change your religion to follow it. 🙂

@littlepuppywantanewlife don't change believe what you want to believe no one has the right to tell you otherwise
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Therifleman Actually that is not true. There is that little thing called freedom of expression. However no one can force you to change and I certainly would never force anyone to change. I do tell them that they need to change and I trust that one day in the not too distant future our Creator Yahweh will bring about the change of heart and mind and bring that person to his senses. The same applies to you. Someday when you least expect it..... Salvation is not the works of man. It is the Work of Yahweh who says " “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
Therifleman · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 still suggesting it isn't right but you do you I don't have any faith but I won't convince others that they shouldn't believe in anything my reasons are my own for it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Therifleman It is right and just and proper. It is simply you don't like the message which absolutely normal. I didn't like the message when I heard it either. That is why I would never listen to it. If was on TV I would change channels. If it was on the radio I would turn it off. If it was in a book I would stop reading the book. Then one day I happened to have a life altering encounter with Someone I had been denying since I was old enough to form my own opinion. Since that time I have spent my time telling others about that Someone. Some of the hearers race to accept Him and others continue to rebel. Then there are those who reject for a time and come back later to say that the message stuck and they consequently accepted. Amazing how it works. Someday you too may be telling others about the Salvation that is found only in Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior.
Therifleman · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 if you saw what I saw people did to each other you would question the existence of a god but I am a pessimist had to be to survive.
Everyone has the right to believe in what they connect with be it Christian, Jewish, Islamic,Sikih, Hindu, Buddhist, Satanist or nothing at all it's for the individual to decide not others to tell them. Every faith has it's pros and cons it is up to you and you alone to decide what you want to believe.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Therifleman And you think the evil of mankind somehow negate the Goodness of God? How? Yes there are lots of foolish belief systems out there. None of them compare to the Work of Jesus Christ.
@Carazaa
We can trust Gods word with our life. It is the only way for a successful life!
Well that's just demonstrably false. There are many highly successful and happy atheist, myself included.

If you define "successful" as "Doing what you think god wants you to do" then sure lol

@hippyjoe1955 only to you are they foolish others it's their faith.
For me it was dead children no crimes but being in the wrong place at the wrong time if there was a plan for them was it for them to die like that? I just don't see it but it's for me to decide I do not believe I won't tell you not to not my place.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Therifleman No it is demonstrably foolish. You need to look at what they believe. It is utter nonsense.
Therifleman · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 as many think about your faith but oh well life goes on. Religious arguements to me is who's imaginary friend is better.

@Pikachu
Success is living a life that you are proud of, serving others, no regrets, getting your goals achieved, always doing what is kind, and what is right; not hindered by sin, defeat, despair, and unaccomplished goals. That can only be measured at the end of ones life, on ones deathbed, not before.
@Carazaa

I think that's a pretty good definition of living a successful life. And so far i am living that life.
Do you believe that atheists don't live such lives. More to the point: do you have any PROOF that atheists are not living such lives?🤨
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu
Do you believe that atheists don't live such lives
Atheists can't live such lives, they're dead in the ground. Skeptics, however, can live such lives until the end comes, then, to their dismay, they'll find out the truth.
