Biblically speaking, the Sabbath is on Saturday. Anyone marking the Sabbath on Sunday is playing into the hands of the Antichrist. [Spirituality & Religion]

That depends. The reason most Christian denominations have moved it to Sunday is in commemoration of the Resurrection happening on a Sunday.
@OggggO

The Sabbath don't change! It is one of the 10 commandments.

@Pikachu However, Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath and demonstrated authority to alter it.
@OggggO

Did Jesus alter the day of the Sabbath? I don't remember him doing that. I remember him telling folks to calm down a bit. Like if your animal is stuck in hole on the Sabbath you can go ahead and work to get it out lol.
But i don't recall him changing the day.

@Pikachu He didn't specifically, but between His statements that the Sabbath was not absolute and the greater theological importance of His resurrection than the specific day of the week God decided it was time for Him to take a break, the change is defensible.
@OggggO

Unless he himself made the change then i don't think it is defensible.
Maybe Jesus had the authority to change the Sabbath but humans certainly don't have the authority to change it on his behalf whether they think his resurrection takes precedence or not.

@Pikachu In general I'd say no, but He invested His 12 disciples and by extension those who shared the Pentecost with them with some rather broad authority on any point of doctrine which He hadn't specifically laid out explicitly.
@OggggO

When did his disciples change the Sabbath?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Pikachu Good question, records of that time are fragmentary.
@OggggO

lol so....we don't have a record of them changing it either?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Pikachu I honestly don't know either way, my knowledge of history outside the various epistles and the book of acts is not good.
@OggggO

Well i'm not aware of any of them making the change either. As far as i know it was the Pope.

@Pikachu Hmm, I might look into it.
@OggggO

Right on👍
