I was born, baptised, and raised Catholic. Even attended a private Christian School through elementary. I was very inquisitive though and a lot of things didn't make sense. By high school I'd decided I was non denominational Christian. I still wanted to believe at that time but I felt organized religion just had too much wrong and were just fallible humans trying to assert God's will as they wanted it to be.

I started reading the Bible critically around then. I was pretty amazed at the kind of things that were glossed over by faith leaders. Without anyone guiding a process of jumping around the book and just reading it, contradictions really started to pop out. Actions taken were not those of a benevolent deity. And the more I read, the more it didn't make sense anymore. The more questions I had and the more I had to make excuses for holding onto it.

When I finally realized it was okay to let go of these beliefs it was actually really easy to do so. Not because I wanted to sin, but because I believe in actually a better person without them. And because I want to live with the most correct understanding of reality that I can.

I am atheist. And I tend to be a non-traditionalist (meaning I put no value in tradition for the sake of tradition). I hold no religion.
