Do we need God for Morality? [Spirituality & Religion]

Obviously the secular answer is a resounding NO.
But if you're a theist who says "yes", i want to hear your reasoning.

Simply look at our nation going straight to hell because most folks don't believe and make fun of God and believers. This is the result- and it will get much worse.
@LonelyMan
because most folks don't believe and make fun of God
1) i don't think you can demonstrate a causal relationship there and
2) do you think that people who don't believe in god cannot be moral people?
LonelyMan · M
@Pikachu They may be moral, but in the long run- it will do them no good.
@LonelyMan

So you agree that people may behave morally without a god but also that god will punish those moral people on the basis that they don't believe?
LonelyMan · M
@Pikachu I agree with what God says- yes.
@LonelyMan

So punish the good people with the same punishment as the bad if they don't believe in god?
Give the family man who volunteers his time at the old folks home the same punishment as the child rapist?

Bit of shit system if you ask me.
LonelyMan · M
@Pikachu Unfortunately for you, you will answer to God- He will not be held accountable by you.
@LonelyMan

Yeah, doesn't sound quite so righteous when i describe it like that, does it?
He will not be held accountable by you.
Certainly.
The tyrant is not answerable to the peasant because might makes right, yes?

Like i said, sounds like a bit of a shit system.
