Do we need God for Morality? [Spirituality & Religion]

Obviously the secular answer is a resounding NO.
But if you're a theist who says "yes", i want to hear your reasoning.

Yes. After all, He's the Author of morality.
@GodSpeed63

Can you prove that?
Failing that, can you prove that people can't be moral if they don't believe in the god of the bible?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu
Can you prove that?
Yahweh already did.
@GodSpeed63

So you can't prove it. Can you at least formulate an argument in favour of your postion?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu
So you can't prove it.
How can I add to what Yahweh has already done? You're still without excuse.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 but we can't see your Yahweh's work on morality. You should present it to us.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
but we can't see your Yahweh's work on morality.
UH! You have read the ten commandments, did you not? You know: You shall not steal, you shall not kill, you shall not covet your neighbors goods, you shall love your neighbor as yourself, you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor, you shall not commit adultery, is any of this ringing a bell?
@GodSpeed63

I know you can't prove it.
That's why i asked you if you could at least present an argument.

So....can you?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 but even your God broke the commandments by killing people including the innocent, impregnating an engaged woman, supports slavery, sexism, asking to degrading themselves, and discrimination. Just having those commandments is not enough. Your God should be moral too by following those.

Oh yeah, your commandments didn't have not to lie. And your religion talks about a God that doesn't exist. Major blow there. 😬
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
your religion talks about a God that doesn't exist.
I'm not religious and my God administers justice, not crime.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 killing babies is not justice. So your God is still a criminal and yes, you're religious
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
killing babies is not justice.
Then why do you support those abortion clinics?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 well, first of all abortion clinics do not kill babies and they're aborting embryos to save lives of mothers who have given permission to do that unlike God killing live born babies because they're children of people who don't worship God as a punishment and for you people, justice 😬
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
well, first of all abortion clinics do not kill babies
That's what you think. If your mother aborted you, she'd have killed her own child. Your own mother would've been a murderer.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 if she had aborted me it could either mean she never wanted me in the first place and she couldn't look after me, abandoning me and further making my life worse or my birth could have killed her. No, that won't make her a murderer. I won't judge her if she had aborted me because it's her choice.

She didn't do that because she knew she is capable of taking care of me once I was born.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 FYI, my mother had abortion before she had me. If she hadn't done it, she would have been dead and she couldn't have given birth to me or my siblings. So there you go.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
if she had aborted me it could either mean she never wanted me in the first place and she couldn't look after me, abandoning me and further making my life worse or my birth could have killed her.
That last excuse is the only acceptable excuse for an abortion. Abortion is meant save life and murder it.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 and who are you to judge that? You have no idea what's going on in their lives and you bear no responsibility over them. So it's better to leave it to them. If you don't like it, don't have it. Mind your own business
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
and who are you to judge that?
I'm a blood bought adoptive son of the living God who is my strength and my courage and my everything since He was the one who created me.

Now, tell me who are you to say otherwise about abortion?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 I am the one to say that whatever you are saying is completely stupid because your God doesn't exist.

Again you can't judge or tell people what they have to do because you are not responsible for their lives.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
I am the one to say that whatever you are saying is completely stupid because your God doesn't exist.
So? You're not in charge of my life, thank God. Yahweh is in charge of my life.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 of course, only because you believe in it. But that doesn't mean it's true for us and also means your God doesn't exists
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
of course, only because you believe
Again, belief follows truth and not the other way around. You have yet to show that Yahweh doesn't live. Your disbelief in Him holds no water.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 if your beliefs follows truth, why haven't you shown your God's existence? Your refusal also shows that your God doesn't exist.

I have shown you the proof which you have refused to accept it. Yes, my disbelief does hold water added to your refusal.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 how can we believe in your God that we haven't seen and you continuously refuse to show it's existence?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JBird
how can we believe in your God that we haven't seen
I haven't seen my brother in over 10 years, does that mean I stop believing in him? What about my sister whom I haven't seen in over thirty years, do I stop believing in her? Just because we don't see Yahweh doesn't mean He's not with us.
