Yes, i know most people won't watch the video.
But if you're a christian and you've only ever heard that slavery in the bible wasn't really slavery and wasn't so bad anyway, you might be interested in checking this out.
Enjoy!

Sorry but this video has nothing to do with Christianity ?

Jesus set the captives free.

The Old Covenant is packed out with war and slavery. God again, set the captives free.
@Wearelivinginamadworld

Is the old testament part of the christian bible?
Well yes it is, therefore it has a great deal to do with christianity.

You can't cherry pick the things you like from the OT like the 10 commandments and leave out the stuff you don't like.
. God again, set the captives free.
I'm not sure i agree with that but that's a debate for another thread😉
Again , This has nothing to do with Christianity ! Please educate yourself and I will have a full blown conversation about The difference between the Old Covenant and the New.
No one is cherry picking. You're just making yourself look a total dumbass. @Pikachu

Then why is it part of the christian bible? If man didn't fall in eden then what did jesus die for? How do we know the god of whom jesus is the son if the OT is not part of christianity?
I think you may not have thought through this.
First off. Christianity didn't exist until the Life, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The New Testament is totally different to the Old Testament.

The first 5 books of the Old Testament are the Laws Moses was given by God Himself. The 10 Commandments have nothing to do with the Law's in the Torah "The Laws of Moses'...Yes are you keeping up? The Old Testament Laws were perfect for Judaism, Jewish faith. On that note, Read the Gospel , The New Testament and then come back and i'll talk some more. I am not replying to your juvenile questions when you haven't got a clue. Grow up. @Pikachu

@Wearelivinginamadworld His point is that slavery is mentioned as an accepted practice in the NT. As someone familiar with the NT, you should know that. Read Philemon, in which Paul does not specifically condemn or condone slavery but works with it as an accepted practice.

Just because the OT law has been superseded doesn't mean everything in the OT is a bunch of crap that can be ignored. Why do you think so many Christians cite Leviticus as evidence of the immorality of homosexuality? Some things are forever.
@Wearelivinginamadworld

Ah! So you like the pentateuch because it's god's own word...so how does that have nothing to do with christianity?
lol i know christianity began with (surprise) christ but the entire foundation for christianity is placed on the back of the OT.

I've read the NT. I'm currently doing round 2 on the OT. The rules for slavery are of course included in the pentateuch.

I submit that if these are part of god's will for the people then they help show the character of god who is the same god in the NT.
You can try to distance christianity from some of the ugly things in the OT if that helps you.
You can stomp your feet and throw a tantrum at me and call me names.
Doesn't change a thing.
At this point you strike as more combative than thoughtful so reply or not. Makes no difference to me😎

My point exactly.
Woe.....Your digging a hole. Im not saying it again. Enough said. Ive never heard anyone in the Pentecostal church preaching from Leviticus !

Are you down there with the JW's and the Mormons ??? Because if you are that concerns me. Or have you had a quick flick through Google!!

Enough now. Peace x@SW-User

@Wearelivinginamadworld There is very much slavery in the New Testament, they just clever with words that's all. Even a Christian biblical site mentions that there were occasional resistance to slavery in the New Testament but that these were unusual by far.
