Compare the numbers of truly brilliant and creative people who deeply believed in God as compared to those of the same caliber who did not...there is, in fact, no comparison. Though Christopher Hitchens was an admirable man with a fine mind, you only need watch his debates with Christian Apologists to see how limited anecdotal and sometimes just silly his arguments were.

A belief in God is a belief in the future, in the eternal, without which there is no point to create anything, only to survive with as much cause for doing so as an animal.

If God means the ones described by religions, no. But if you ask me if there is a supreme being out there who controls everything, I don't know.

@Qwerty14 @Reverend tbh, when I say a supreme being it can be anything. Maybe it's kind of a force or energy that doesn't care what you do, whether you worship it or even empathic as other religions claim to be. I don't know if there's a God/any supreme being(s) that govern hoe things work in the universe or not. But all I know the Gods any religion or religious texts describe is not real.

I think if a god exists it is not a personal anthropomorphic one. It's going to be extremely alien if it does exist. The likelihood that God is anthropomorphic is ridiculous since nothing else in the universe is anthropomorphic except for the primate family.
I'm okay with the idea of a force or a non personal non anthropomorphic deity though. Although I'd see it more in Deistic terms as possibaly a first cause. Since the universe operates by natural law. Not supernatural law.
