Do you think I actually like being an atheist? I fucking hate it. I WANT to believe in God. I wish I could trust in a heavenly afterlife, continuation after death, the idea that a morally perfect savior is watching over me and that good will prevail. I WANT you to be right. I just can't bring myself to actually think it's true. If you get to say "I told you so" one day then I'd be very happy.

Your entire argument for this deluded "nobody is an atheist" idea revolves around the premise that everyone holds faith in something, whether that be a god, an idol, a concept, whatever. But theism is not faith in something. It's specifically faith and belief in a god. Faith, belief, trust, in an idol or otherwise, is not theism.

@GodSpeed63 what makes you think your God is the right one? Also you claim he's loving and merciful, yet brings death and disease. He was fine killing the first born of Egypt and the slaughter of the Amalekites. That's not just nor merciful. At least my God stands for love, compassion, consciousness and order.

Honestly I am more than a little surprised that someone your age is so indoctrinated.. you must be from a deeply religious stronghold where it would be frowned upon not to be religious.. perhaps a backwater somewhere.. where the current trend, (thank goodness!!!) is for people to be moving away from this religious nonsense... It clearly hasn't reached where you are yet

Just to let you know, there are no such people that are atheists except those skeptics buried in the ground under their headstones. As long as they're alive skeptics will believe in some type of idol and put their faith in that idol.

Well no. If it was a bet, you'd have the long end of the speak in terms of ridiculing the loser. Not because I think you're right. But it's kinda the same as to make a bet with your friend on a plane ride about whether or not you are both going to die. One person can't really get the benefit if he wins.
