Does the god of the bible allow human sacrifice or the sacrifice of children? [Spirituality & Religion]

It's said in the bible that one of the foul things done by the nations whom the Israelites conquered was sacrificing their children to their god.

But isn't that exactly what happens in the story of Jephthah?
He promises god that if he will grant Jephthah victory in battle then he will sacrifice whatever comes out of his house to meet him upon his return.
Now let's just blow right past the fact that at BEST something coming out of his house to meet him is going to be a pet and more likely a family member.

When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of timbrels! She was an only child.

Judges 11:34

And then Jephtha burns his daughter as a sacrifice to god in return for his victory.

Seems like he definitely did though so i'll ask you to make a more specific argument.

Read through the thread so we don't have to cover ground i've already been covering for the last few days.

God can't interfere with free will. There are religions who demand human sacrifice that God will judge on the day of judgment. If they do not repent of this evil deed, then they leave God no choice but to pass judgment on that day and sentence them to the lake of fire.
@GodSpeed63

Did you read the thread? I think you did not because what you said does not address my arguments.

Did you read the thread?

Yeah, I read it. Did you read what God did with those nations?
@GodSpeed63

I don't think you did read it because you haven't mentioned a single thing i said.
Fine.

Does god accept the sacrifice of children?

Yes. Because:

1) Jephthah offers a burnt offering to god in return for victory over the Ammonites.
2) God knows that, that sacrifice will be Jephthah's daughter.
3) God accepts that offer and delivers victory to Jephthah.

And the lord gave him victory.
NOT and Jephthah was victorious, god GAVE him victory.
We see from Saul's inappropriate offering and subsequent curse that god does NOT accept rash sacrifices just because they are offered.
So please, submit an superior interpretation which indicates that god did not accept a child sacrifice in return for victory.

Jephthah offers a burnt offering to god in return for victory over the Ammonites.

Jephthah offered to sacrifice the first thing to greet him when he got home. He didn't expect it to be His daughter. According to you, she lives no more, according to God she lives in paradise. You're still trying to find fault with God but there is no fault to be found in Him.
@GodSpeed63

I didn't expect it to be His daughter.

Jephthah didn't expect it but god knew it would be his daughter.
She was sacrificed as a burnt offering.
God accepted a child sacrifice and gave Jephthah victory in return.

Whether she lives in paradise or not, she was still sacrificed and god still accepted.

Simple as that.

Jephthah didn't expect it but god knew it would be his daughter.

God was saddened by it but still kept His word to Jephthah as Jephthah kept his word to God. BTW, if you noticed, Jephthah's daughter gave her life out of respect to both God and her father. She wasn't murdered as you suppose.
@GodSpeed63

God was saddened by it

It does not say that at any point. You've made that up.
Quote me the chapter and verse or you're wrong.

but still kept His word to Jephthah

My point exactly. God knew that Jephthah's daughter would be the sacrifice and still gave him victory. Unlike when Saul inappropriately offers a sacrifice and is cursed.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu
It does not say that at any point.

It doesn't have to, I know He was saddened by Jephthah's promise.
@GodSpeed63

Sorry, i think i'll take the bible's word on this matter over yours.

Sorry, i think i'll take the bible's word on this matter over yours.

That's your interpretation of His Word and not His Word itself.
@GodSpeed63

lol😂 WRRROOOOOOOOOOOONG!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

You said god was saddened by Jephthah's sacrifice. The bible DOES NOT SAY THAT.
So no, bud. When i say that the bible does not say that god was saddened by the sacrifice, i am right.
That is not my interpretation of existing scripture, that is an absence of scripture which says what you claimed.

Check mate.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

You're going to burst a blood vessel if you're not careful.

You said god was saddened by Jephthah's sacrifice. The bible DOES NOT SAY THAT.

You don't know God but I do know Him.
@GodSpeed63

lol whatever you say, sport.

You tried to add to scripture.
I reported what was actually in it.

Check mate.

whatever you say, sport.

What ever is true, sport.

A lie can never checkmate the truth. It's never checkmate for you.
@GodSpeed63

A lie can never checkmate the truth

Thanks for admitting that i'm right.
You tried to lie and say that god was sad about it when the scripture says no such thing.
Your lie cannot checkmate my truth😂

lol you can't even admit it when you make up something which is not supported by the bile.
Sad.

@Pikachu
Thanks for admitting that I'm right.

You're not right and checkmate is not in your favor.
@GodSpeed63

And when you can produce scripture that says god was sad about accepting jephthah's sacrifice then i'll give a shit about what you're saying.
Until then you haven't a leg to stand on, boy.

No amount of deflection will change that fact.

Check.
Mate.
😁
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu
Check. Mate.

No checkmate. Scripture doesn't have to clarify what God felt. The Holy Spirit clarifies what God feels.
@GodSpeed63

*yawn*

You're boring me. I'm bored now.

You don't have to admit you're wrong. Everyone can see it anyway.

Dismissed.
Sharon · F
@Pikachu He doesn't seem to understand that everyone can see he's wrong or, in a recent exchange with me, lying. 🤷‍♀️
@Sharon

I think he can understand it. He'll just never admit it.
Sharon · F
@Pikachu He won't admit to being wrong but I don't think he realizes that everyone who reads his posts can see that he is.
@Sharon

Oh, yeah he might not realize that. I do think he believes he's disguising that fact.
