Is god not going to reveal himself to me unless i blindly accept that he is just and good? [Spirituality & Religion]

I mean, how am i supposed to turn off the brain he ostensibly gave me?
When i read about hardening pharaoh's heart so that he could show off his power or how he orders his chosen people to kill children by the thousands....how am i supposed to embrace that as the actions of a good and just being?

God didn’t harden pharaohs heart. That was all on the pharao. It’s been quite awhile since I studied my bible but I remember the main stuff lol

Moses did as god commanded and told pharaoh to set the Hebrews free but pharaoh refused time and time again therefore his heart was hardened because he absolutely refused to set free the Hebrews as god commanded.
If you want a better idea of how it all went down I highly recommend you watch the movie “the Ten Commandments” it’s 3 hours but it is fantastic! From 1956 or something but it’s color

No, you're wrong there.

There are instances where pharaoh is stubborn and hardens his own heart and there are instances where god harden's pharaoh's heart with the stated purpose of showing everyone his power.

@Pikachu Oh I forgot it was you not me that studied the Bible for 14 years 😂
@Ryanoliver2011

Don't rest on your laurels.

If you indeed studied the bible for 14 years then you are aware that some passages say that pharaoh hardened his heart in some instances and that in other instances god hardened his heart so that he could show his power to the nations around.

@Pikachu I really did study for like 14 years but that aside I don’t remember god saying he hardened pharaohs heart. At least in the beginning his heart wasn’t hardened by god. Maybe and this is a big maybe god hardened it towards the end but I don’t recall that

...for real?
Then you might want to take a refresher course. There are several distinct instances of god hardening pharaoh's heart vs pharaoh's hardening his heart against the israeilites.
But [c=#BF0000]the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart[/c], and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had told Moses.
In contrast to:
When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart

But the Lord khardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go.
And of course there are multiple examples of god declaring that he hardened pharaoh's heart against the israelites so that he could show his power:
I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might show these my signs before him”
@Pikachu 🤷‍♂️ Idk like I said it’s been a long time since I studied it lol. What version bible are you reading? NIV?
Ryanoliver2011 · 26-30, M
@Pikachu and interesting except from an article I just read

“In all there are ten places where ‘hardening’ of Pharaoh is ascribed to God (4.21; 7.3; 9.12; 10.1, 20, 27; 11.10; 14.4, 8, 17). But it must be stated just as firmly that Pharaoh hardened his own heart in another ten passages (7.13, 14, 22; 8.15, 19, 32; 9.7, 34, 35; 13.15). Thus the hardening was as much Pharaoh’s own act as it was the work of God. Even more significant is the fact that Pharaoh alone was the agent of the hardening in the first sing and in all the first five plagues. Not until the sixth plague was it stated that God actually moved in and hardened Pharaoh’s heart (9.12), as he had warned Moses in Midian that he would have to do [4.21].”

@Pikachu that’s what I meant in one of my messages that god gave pharaoh a chance to obey before he punished him by hardening his heart. I believe I said if he did harden it and it appears you are indeed correct. I didn’t study exodus much
@Ryanoliver2011

yes, god gave him a chance to obey...and then on other occasions he didn't with the stated purpose of showing everyone his power. And when that show of strength involves mass murder, i have a hard time accepting it as the actions of a jsut and loving being.

I didn't appreciate how you attempted to dismiss me by announcing that unlike myself, you had studied the bible for 14 years.
I hope the fact that you misremembered the scripture will prevent you from making that boast again in place of an argument.
