I just can't accept the notion that a god who loves anyone at all could order mass murder the way he has. [Spirituality & Religion]

His chosen people are ordered to kill thousands of people, [i]nations[/i] of people not even sparing the women and children. After all, that Promised Land was far from empty when the Israelites showed up.
I can't accept that notion.
Or at least i can't love that kind of god. I certainly couldn't.

Where do you suppose that leaves me?

@Pikachu the Jews were slaves who were beaten. and a loving God helped them. He took them out of slavery and gave them the land of the neighbors. The countries around them owned slaves, sacrificed to their stone figures and were killing their kids to please their gods. God helps the weak! He is an amazingly good God! You just don't know Him!

But that's such a problematic statement!

He took them out of egypt by killing every first born in egypt. Mass murder.
He gave them the land of their neighbors and they had to kill everyone down to the last child to get it.
We went over this in another post. If it's bad that these people were killing their own kids, the isrealites killing EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR KIDS is not better.

Its sad that after reading what the Jews had to endure as slaves, God has more compassion for them than you! He helped them in war. A loving God who helps the weak!

You're missing the point. It's not that i have no compassion for the isrealites. They were slaves in egypt and that sucks.
But that does not ease my mind when it comes to the [i][b]wholesale slaughter[/b][/i] which they perpetrate on other nations under god's orders.

Do you understand that, Carazaa? Do you understand how i could be disgusted by the butchery of every man, woman, child and animal in many nations?
