I just can't accept the notion that a god who loves anyone at all could order mass murder the way he has. [Spirituality & Religion]

His chosen people are ordered to kill thousands of people, [i]nations[/i] of people not even sparing the women and children. After all, that Promised Land was far from empty when the Israelites showed up.
I can't accept that notion.
Or at least i can't love that kind of god. I certainly couldn't.

Where do you suppose that leaves me?

Pikachu, The Bible to the Godly is life. We love it. The Bible to the ungodly is foolishness. We are changed when we are saved. God fights our battles, and he loves us. God knows the heart of the people in the Bible that worshipped Molek. They killed and sacrificed their own children. That's why God killed all of them. Go to Sodom and Gomorrah and you will see the ashes.

They killed and sacrificed their own children...so god had the isrealites kill all the children....

@Pikachu I will repeat the story for those who don't know the story, that you are twisting, like a lot of atheists twist the Bible.
The Jews were slaves, and were beaten and abused so God helped them and gave them the land of their neighbors who were murderers, rapists, and evil. God helps the weak! He has promissed to help us in life and win ALL our battles. You are putting God in a bad light and that is terrible!

I wasn't twisting a thing, Carazaa. I just wasn't trying to make myself feel better about slaughtering [i]entire nations[/i] of women and children the way you are.

I said only that i find that kind of butchery to be repugnant.
And i notice that you have yet to explain how killing all the babies is supposed to be better than those evil nations sacrificing some of the babies...
