Why do you think that god won't allow anyone with a disability of any kind to be a priest and make offerings? [Spirituality & Religion]

Pikachu, we all have a disability, don't believe me, well, we are all good at something and we are all bad at something. Isn't that what a disability is? To be bad at something, less fortunate? Therefore, priests you will find do have a disability.

@Deepbreath I don't think he'll listen. Too much evolution in his head and he's always bored anyways just like some of the rest
Deepbreath46-50, M
@FreestyleArt I didn't care if he listen or not, I just wanted to comment that we all have something that we can and cannot do. Makes everyone think more, doesn't it?
@Deepbreath

Well sure. If you want to broaden the definition of disability fairly significantly.
But leviticus mentions some specific ones. Sorry, i should have included them in the original question:

"No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; 19 no man with a crippled foot or hand, 20 or who is a hunchback or a dwarf, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles. "

Leviticus 21:16-20

@Pikachu If you look at the bible though, it's written by man, never written by God or Jesus, that's funny that, what religion is to man and what religion is to woman? A church accepts everyone including rapists, murderers. A child can talk to anyone in church and never know the secrets of the person who that child is talking to. That's a very scary thought.
@Deepbreath

It's definitely a nice sentiment馃檪
@Deepbreath

Well i'd personally agree with you that the bible is not divine in origin. But i'm asking this question with the conceit that the bible is the word/inspired word of god.
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu You will find religion is full of conspiracy theories and nothing is truly inspired by God or his words.
@Deepbreath

lol again, my personal view is indeed that there exist no such beings as gods but for the purposes of this question we accept that they do.
FreestyleArt31-35, M
@Deepbreath it really doesn't matter to me. Got to be careful what you're listening to and elevate what they mean to reasoning but we know it's not gonna happen with him
@FreestyleArt

lol have i done something to upset you, bud? You seem really down on me and i can't think of a single conversation we've actually had...
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu Therefore, you just answered to your question, it's a personal view.
@Deepbreath

What do you mean?
Deepbreath46-50, M
@FreestyleArt I'm very careful with religion and don't worry, I'm safe :) But thank you for looking out for me.
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu You answered your own question because all views on this is personal views only and there is never a right or wrong answer. Monks you will find some are physically disabled, priests are never physically disabled but you can say they are mentally not right in the head. Because some sexually abuse their position, some even blow up people. This is a fact. Therefore, it's all going to be personal views and can lead to vendetta along the way.
@Deepbreath

I don't understand. Maybe i haven't been clear enough.
This refers to the Levite priests in charge of the tabernacle and for which there were specific prohibitions against deformity and disability. I'm not talking about priests today. I'm wondering specifically why god might have disallowed a Levite with damaged testicles from serving in the tabernacle lol
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu What is it that you don't understand about a personal view? There is never a right or wrong answer. I could talk nonsense and even maybe get the best answer. Lol.

What makes you believe that God disallowed Levite with a damaged testacle, when God is never seen? Therefore, who makes up the rules about religion in the past to religion now? It makes no difference, some say God never existed, some say God was never a man but some sort of spirit. Hence therefore, religion back then to now plays really no part in your question because to you God was in charge of the rules. Bad mistake don't you think?
@Deepbreath
What makes you believe that God disallowed Levite with a damaged testacle
Because that's what's written in the bible.
Therefore, who makes up the rules about religion in the past
For the purposes of this question, god does and i therefore question why he might make such a prohibition.
I don't understand where personal view comes into that. Unless you're saying that it was god's personal view that the shabbily testicled were unfit for service?
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu Because it's a personal view that whether God exists or not. Can you prove it? Can anyone prove that God actually ever exists? No, none of us can. Don't always believe what you read. Therefore, it's a personal view that God exists or not. It's a personal view that God made up the rules or not. That's a fact not fiction.
@Deepbreath
It's a personal view that God made up the rules or not
Yes, i totally agree and i think i have identified the point of miscommunication.

When i say that for the purposes of this question we're assuming god is real and the author of the bible, i don't mean that this is a fact in the real world. I mean that in order to question the motivation of the character of god, we assume that the bible accurately reflects his wishes and decrees.
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu Therefore, I still believe that you have answered to your own question. Lol
@Deepbreath

lol but i don't see how i answered my own question. Here, i'll ask the question and you supply what you feel is my own answer.

Why do you think that god (who we're assuming for the moment is real) won't allow anyone with a disability of any kind to be a priest and make offerings?
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu No one can truly answer your question though, I tried to answer it as truthfully as honestly as possible. The only true answer you can get is why not ask God himself? See what you get back as the answer, but wait you can't. Lol Therefore, no one can truly answer this because no one can answer to God, the same as a dead person, no one can answer for a dead person either because they're dead. To really have the answer someone needs to be alive to answer it. As God is not here to answer for himself then no one can answer on his behalf. That'll be foolish to do so.
@Deepbreath
No one can truly answer your question though,
lol certainly. Which is why i asked "why do you think..."
Deepbreath46-50, M
@Pikachu exactly, "why do I think? Why do you think? I have truly answered the question and so have you. We all have our own thoughts and beliefs but no definite answer. Because we all be wrong and we all could be somehow right too.
@Deepbreath

Sounds good, bud. Thanks for answering馃槈
