If i tell you that any of the apparent design you saw in the universe was not the work of god... [Spirituality & Religion]

...but of time traveling humans or aliens, can you prove me wrong any more than i can prove you wrong about god?
Am i then just as justified in believing that as you are in believing a god is responsible?

I say this for thought: if GOD DOES NOT EXIST AND MAN SAYS THIS GIANT BALL( MASS) EXPLODED AND HERE WE ARE.. THEN WHERE DID THIS MASS COME FROM AND WHAT CAUSED IT TO EXPLODE? NOTHING SELF EXPLODES WITH OUT EXTERNAL FACTORS. JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND GOD DOES NOT MEAN HE DOES NOT EXIST! IVE SAW MIRACLES WITH MY OWN EYES!

@Italianlover

Sure, and just because we don't know the answer doesn't mean we are justified in saying we know the answer is god.
As you say, everything comes from somewhere. So where did god come from? And if you assert that god need not come from anywhere then on what grounds can you deny that reality could not have likewise existed without an origin?
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@Pikachu just use logic my man. OH AND IF WE WERE ONCE APES, THEN WHY DID WE EVOLVE BUT YET THE APES DIDNT?
Pikachu ·
@Italianlover

I am using logic and i invite you to do the same.
To that end, answer the previous question:

As you say, everything comes from somewhere. So where did god come from? And if you assert that god need not come from anywhere then on what grounds can you deny that reality could not have likewise existed without an origin?
IF WE WERE ONCE APES, THEN WHY DID WE EVOLVE BUT YET THE APES DIDNT?
Are you genuinely asking me that question or is it a joke? If it's genuine then i am happy to explain🙂
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@Pikachu let me explain, GOD IS A PRESENCE, SOMETHING WE AS HUMANS HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF. MAYBE EVEN AN ET THAT TRAVELS THROUGH DIMENSIONS. IM SPECULATING ONLY BUT A CLOSED MIND WILL NEVER DISCOVER NEW THINGS.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover Why are you shouting?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover
IF WE WERE ONCE APES
Umm... we are apes
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 let's call it being assertive instead. They keyboard doesn't say shout button.
Pikachu ·
@Italianlover

Beg [ardon, but that wasn't an explanation nor an answer to my question.

You seem to think that it is a reasonable to assume that god is real because everything has to come from somewhere.
You then commit the logical fallacy of special pleading wherein you seek to exclude god from this rule.
Well ok, but if you can exclude god from this rule then on what grounds can you claim that reality has not also always existed without a cause?
Logically speaking.

Again, are you genuinely asking me about apes and evolution? If so, i'm always happy to educate.
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 dayum I need to swing from a vine. UMM NEGATIVE WE'RE NOT
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover Oh yes we are...

The family Hominidae (hominids), the great apes, includes three extant species of orangutans and their subspecies, two extant species of gorillas and their subspecies, two extant species of chimpanzees and their subspecies, and one extant species of humans in a single extant subspecies (Homo sapiens)
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@Pikachu to educate the teacher must know more then the student
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Italianlover Could you just answer the original question.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 Right, of course.
Pikachu ·
@Italianlover

Agreed. And it seems from your responses that i do indeed no more, no offense.

So can you answer the question i asked you regarding origins and special pleading? It's beginning to look like you're avoiding that question.

Do you genuinely want to know why other great apes exist alongside humans or were you making a joke?
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@Pikachu everything I said comes from means it is a mass not a presence. A planet is a mass, metal is a mass, a presence can be felt but not touched or detected
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@Pikachu obviously you're not great on reading comprehension. AS I SAID GOD IS A PRESENCE NOT A MASS THAT CAN BE REGISTERED. CERTAINLY ENLIGHTEN ME ABOUT APES.
Pikachu ·
@Italianlover

Presence is energy. Energy is mass. Look up Einstein for more on that lol

So, you're backing down on the apes/human thing, yes?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover
not touched or detected
So is of no interest to science, and cannot be discussed using scientific principles.
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 umm No. The ape genitically closest in genes to a human. There is no conclusive evidence that man has evolved from an ape. As they say a fish evolved into an ape ... GAWD
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover if you’re going to persist in shouting, people will simply stop listening. It’s not assertive, it’s merely discourteous... and beginning to look a lot like desperation
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover
man has evolved from an ape
I will repeat it for you

Humans didn’t evolve from apes... humans are apes
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover Are you at least familiar with common descent?
Italianlover · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 since is in its infancy.its procedures are constantly being corrected and rediscovered. Don't use science as absolute proof.scientist do alot of guessing
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Italianlover All apes (including humans) share common ancestry
Pikachu ·
@Italianlover

Happy to. But i'd appreciate it if you stop using caps. It does read as yelling.

First, humans are apes. As Newjanine explained, we are classified as members of the great apes.
Secondly, the idea that other apes should have evolved into humans or human-like creatures is quite misguided.
Humanity is not the goal of evolution. In fact, there IS no goal in evolution. It is not a progression from bad to good or good to better. It is "concerned" solely with what is adaptive.
So one lineage of apes existed under conditions that selected for traits like larger brains, bipedal locomotion and more dexterous hands. That was us.
Other lineages were better able to survive in their habitats by remaining as they were. Given that, why would you expect them all to have evolved into humans?
Do you understand? Questions?
