Can we stop saying that atheists are afraid to believe in god? [Spirituality & Religion]

Who the heck wouldn't want to believe that death is not the end and that we'll be reunited with our loved ones?

It seems to me that in fact fear is one of the strongest motivators TO believe in a god which soothes the terrors of death, oblivion and separation.

God is afraid of believing in atheists.

God is afraid of believing in atheists.

Why would God be afraid of people dead in the ground?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 for the last time, stop denying atheists are dead. They are still alive and living happily around you without God. And that's why God is afraid of atheists because they're the proofs that he is a fad and a narcissist who controls people.
Echambers101 · 26-30, M
@JBird that's not true at all
JBird · F
@Echambers101 truth always prevails and even more hurtful when you deny it
Echambers101 · 26-30, M
@JBird atheists aren't dead yeah but God isn't afraid of anything
JBird · F
@Echambers101 that's your belief. For us, God doesn't even exist.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@JBird
that's your belief. For us, God doesn't even exist.

Prove it.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 If God actually existed, there would have been only religion. According to Christianity or Islam, non believers will be doomed but in reality everyone regardless of their faith goes through more or less shit. Therefore atheists are one of the proofs. I mean, I left Christianity and stopped worshipping for a long time and frankly I am still alive and content. That's enough to understand that religion is a fad. When I say God doesn't exist, I mean the ones from the religion described like Jehovah, Shiva or Allah.

That's where you're wrong. God hates religion.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 unfortunately your God comes from a religion. As an agnostic atheist, I don't fully disregard the existence of a creator but I think the Gods religions have described are totally wrong. I also believe it's foolish to describe something we don't know yet.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@JBird
unfortunately your God comes from a religion.

Where's that written?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 Google. Bible. Anywhere.

Your God is always associated with Christianity and Judaism. Therefore it's based from a religion. Btw here's the correct definition of a religion which pretty much fits your devotion to God.

And give me evidence your 'religion' is not a religion

And give me evidence your 'religion' is not a religion

James 1:27

@GodSpeed63 Is everything alright at home?
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@Harriet03
Is everything alright at home?

Why do you ask?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 1. You believe in a God.
2. You worship God.
3. You have a religious text.
4. You have a doctrine to follow.

All of these fit into classic description of religion.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@GodSpeed63 You're gibbering on again.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@JBird
1. You believe in a God.

So? That has nothing to do with religion.

2. You worship God.

Our very lives are a worship to Him as we walk in the light as He is in the light.

3. You have a religious text.

No we don't.

4. You have a doctrine to follow.

It's more than just a doctrine, it's the life God meant for us live since the beginning of the world.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@Harriet03
You're gibbering on again.

How am I doing that?
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63

So? That has nothing to do with religion.

Yes, it does. The primary notion of religion is worshipping a God. Refer the definition of religion.

Our very lives are a worship to Him as we walk in the light as He is in the light.

Not for people in real world. Only for the followers. Again proving it's a religion.

No we don't.

Hello, what's a Bible, then?

It's more than just a doctrine, it's the life God meant for us live since the beginning of the world.

That's also called a doctrine.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@JBird
Yes, it does.

God hates man made organized religion. It undermines His free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit. No one can earn their way into His kingdom of Heaven.

Not for people in real world.

I got news for you, this not the real world. The real world is eternal, this world is only temporary.

Hello, what's a Bible, then?

The Word of God and not some religious book.

That's also called a doctrine.

It's called the truth.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 All of those things you just said are the beliefs within your religion and your followers only. Nobody outside that believe that. So it's a religion.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
@JBird
All of those things you just said are the beliefs within your religion

All those things I've said are truth in the Word of God. His Word is Truth.

Read Matthew 23. This world is temporary, just read Revelation 21.

The Holy Bible is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3 & 2 Peter 1

God is not man that He is capable of lying or be in error.
JBird · F
@GodSpeed63 Again that's your belief that not many people share. I have read Bible too and sadly it didn't convince me much.
