One superhero- or none! [Spirituality & Religion]

As a child I was frightened of adults. They wouldn't let me enjoy my comic book heroes. They would throw them away and substitute a bible; their idea of a superhero. It stopped being about a child suspending reason for a bit. It was instead ritualistic group role playing: the permanent suspension of reason. I didn't want to grow up to live in a world filled with hypocrisy and premature dementia. I was scared.

Ritualistic group role playing. I like that because I can relate. I'm the son of a preacherman.
I personally feel that religious indoctrination can be akin to child abuse.

good point. childhood is a real minefield and always was!
I was frightened of adults, too. We both had good reasons.

Thankfully my parents understood the power of imagination. Yes, I read the bible and went to church; however, I was still allowed to but my cape on and save the world.

I'm going to vote superhero given the provided alternative... 😦

A number of people are arriving at the belief that enforced Bible study is child abuse. Nobody in authority, but the belief is spreading
