One superhero- or none! [Spirituality & Religion]

As a child I was frightened of adults. They wouldn't let me enjoy my comic book heroes. They would throw them away and substitute a bible; their idea of a superhero. It stopped being about a child suspending reason for a bit. It was instead ritualistic group role playing: the permanent suspension of reason. I didn't want to grow up to live in a world filled with hypocrisy and premature dementia. I was scared.
