How does creationism answer this? It's the scientific consensus that modern birds evolved directly from theropod dinosaurs. [Spirituality & Religion]

We even know now that many or even most theropod dinosaurs had some form of feathers.
What they also had were clawed forearms, some of which turned into wings.

We see those same forearm/wing claws on some modern birds like the emu, the cassowary and the hoatzin.

This makes perfect sense from an evolutionary perspective since modern birds evolved from dinosaurs but how does creation explain it?
Why did god make two different "kinds" of animal with such startlingly similar anatomy when some of them don't even use that anatomy?

He works in mysterious ways. Just because we don't understand something, doesn't null it's validity.

@Magenta Yes, very true.
@Magenta

Certainly. God can do whatever he wants.
But i didn't ask if god could have done it, i asked how creationism accounts for this evidence.

If "god works in mysterious ways" is the only answer (and we've already seen that answer in this thread) then you'll agree that this answer offers nothing in the way of explanatory power for what we see. It certainly doesn't possess the same explanatory power offered by evolution.

@Pikachu I think as Christians and not ecologists or biologists how we think is more on the line of, science changes all the time, God doesn't, your "evidence" might not be accurate at all, and even if you have done your research the research itself could be false, and if the research is true it still doesn't mean that God did not create animals that changed later.

We are not really questioning if God created animals at all. Because for us that debate was over in our minds when we were saved. Sure we can say that some of the research out there is good research but it isn't something that will ever shake our faith for saved Christians. We are not Christians because of the evidence, we are Christians because God did a miracle in our hearts in one day. And we then had an understanding of God that opened our eyes to His truths.

I saw this wonderful testimony by a young "new age" You Tuber who was very rich because of all the blogging he did and donations etc. He was a millionaire and bought a huge house and a fancy car. He had a praying Mom who prayed all the time that he would come to truth. One day he said that he was seeing the trees differently and understood how sinful he was and saw Gods Holiness and started crying.

Then he told all his followers that he had to stop teaching lies and he was now going to teach truth. They didn't like that so they all went away. He lost his house, and car. and now he lives in his Moms basement but he feels more peace than ever because he understands God now and he has to follow God, not man.
@Carazaa

, your "evidence" might not be accurate at all, and even if you have done your research the research itself could be false,

And that conclusion would be made after it becomes apparent that there was a flaw, not before.
The self-correcting nature of science is its strength, not a weakness and it's certainly not an excuse to ignore it.
Science is the most consistently reliable way of knowing what is true in our world.

Sure we can say that some of the research out there is good research but it isn't something that will ever shake our faith for saved Christians

And there's no reason it should.
There's no reason that you have to reject the mountains of evidence that tell us evolution took place in order to believe that jesus was the son of god and died for your sins.

@Pikachu My answer does explain and account for it. It just isn't the one you want because it doesn't support your cause. If we already knew all the reasons and answers then there wouldn't be any need for faith.
Either you believe or you don't..

Science is constantly searching and learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
@Magenta

My answer does explain and account for it. It just isn't the one you want because it doesn't support your cause

No i genuinely don't think it does.
It offers a non-answer. All you've actually said is "because god" and you can call that an answer technically but it explains nothing.

The theory of evolution offers an answer which explains why we see these wing claws. What's more, that explanation remains consistent with a thousand other examples we see.
It has explanatory power while "god works in mysterious ways" has none.

I'm not attacking your religion here or even trying to prove that you're wrong about god. I'm simply pointing out that "god did it for reasons" in no way answers the question.

Science is constantly searching and learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Disagree.
Science is the most consistently reliable way of knowing what is true that we've yet devised.
It's certainly more reliable than faith.

@Pikachu
I'm not attacking your religion
I don't have a religion. Yikes! Organized religion is kind of repulsive.
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu I think you missed my point. What I am saying is that we aren't interested in the latest research, because we have all our answers already. Science change all the time, but I am more interested in Gods words.
@Magenta

Well then i'm certainly not attacking your religion lol.
@Carazaa

But you don't have the answers, carazaa.
"God did it for reasons" does not explain anything. It's a place holder for actual knowledge.

I understand that you may be content with that but i'm certainly not.

Look to god's word for how to live your life or how to praise jesus or whatever.
Look to science when you want to explain how the world around you actually works.
