Atheists, what if upon death, whatever you *believed* was what happened? [Spirituality & Religion]

So Atheists would get consigned to Eternal Oblivion and Christians get to go to Heaven. Pretty simple really. And even if it doesn't work like that, what have you got to lose?

What would I have to lose by switching to monotheism...?

Self accountability, my personal progress towards enlightenment, my free will, thoughts free of fear of big mean sky daddy's punative repercussions for simply making human decisions...

Even as a child I really struggled with understanding the mindset "well I should believe and worship this certain way [i]just in case[/i] xyz is going to be how it all goes down."

That's what the neighbors have basically taught their kids whom in turn have taught to my own kid and tried with even me. Their eldest at 8 flat out told me I should believe in her god so that I don't go to hell and aren't I worried about it? Nope. I'm more worried about her spreading your fear based doctrine to my impressionable kid.
