God didn't create the devil. He created a beautiful angel, named Lucifer. Like us, the angels have free will and like us, a third of them, including Lucifer, rebelled against God. Lucifer became their leader and has been giving them a snow-job ever since.

@suzie1960 In wine or in alcohol all together?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 In alcoholic drinks. Alcohol (ethanol) itself is a single compound.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960 That's true.

You can appreciate good if you have seen bad, can appreciate happiness if you know what is sadness.

I realize this is likely just a silly post, but just in case...
Do you realize "The Devil" was God's favorite angel? That means he is not that demonic creature he's made out to be. How can he have once been God's favorite, and want plague and pestilence? He is more like us than you know. He just wants things his way and disagrees with God... just as we do! What's wrong with holding on to anger for someone who's harmed us, when our Father encourages forgiveness? What's wrong with desiring my neighbor's wife? Her husband don't love her anyway? It's more like that!
And God does not create cancer or cause any level of pain or suffering. He does not interfere with anything on this earth, positive or negative. He does not test us or put us through anything for any reason. Everything is left to chance in this life. He does not cure disease or provide opportunity through prayer. What He does do is give those strength to endure who seek Him. He lifts hearts and changes things from the inside, so we can hopefully change things outside of us.
Joke all you want. I get it. I have one hell of a sense of humor, and often a sick one. I'm even ok with jokes involving God. I'm not saying I have all the answers or do everthing right, but I know what I said to be true.

Anthropomorphism for chaos and the things the sentient mind doesn't like. Once the 'illumination for the throne of God', but had too much ambition and lost his standing. I am a heretical Christian. I believe the stories in Genesis are just a primitive view of what would have been an excellent science fiction series. Terra-forming, hybridization, and extraterrestrial involvement with earth happened. Primitive man recorded it the only way his primitive mind could conceive, and we have "The Bible" . It is the most magnificent book on earth, but it is simply a primitive interpretation of events that happened because of involvement of highly advanced beings with their experiment. The 'experiment' being earth. Earth is a planet but the life upon it was put here by something else. Mass behavior modification has been practiced and observation and minimal involvement is still ongoing. It's all real. It's all true. It is just written as well as middle eastern nomads, warriors, Kings, Fishermen, and farmers could manage. We are still as primitive as Australopithecus compared to the being and beings that these people were writing about.

@whynottalk That's the truth, brother.
VolpeTredici · 31-35, M
@whynottalk 🙄 I didn't say anything about making anyone do anything. But he knows everything we'll do if he is omniscience. And if he doesn't know everything we'll do, he can't be sure of his predictions, so they are void.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
he was apparently a angel first and was gods most perfect creation yet he disagreed with the ever so sensitive god and god basically disowned him for it
@PlumBerries Too much ambition is a career killer in the corporate world.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
well it is with a god like that.. it says it all when the whole thing is if you do not worship him and devote your life to him that you will burn for all eternity.. That's sensitive to a whole other level and just very needy
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
He doesn't even know what to do with all his "children" on Earth, so he lets millions of people die and suffer. You think he's gonna have an answer to your question? Lol.
JonathanC · 61-69, M
There is a school of thought that says God IS the devil in disguise, fooling people.
VolpeTredici · 31-35, M
@JonathanC I've always wondered about that
21stCenturyFox · 26-30, F
It's not a very good disproving argument.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@21stCenturyFox What would be a disproving argument?
21stCenturyFox · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 It requires too much time and effort to discuss here. I simply made an expert comment.

@21stCenturyFox As you wish.

It could be the devil IS god in disguise. Could be if these weren't all fictional beings, that is.
