Did you know that if we don't live a holy life before God we are litteraly doomed? Does anyone care about holiness? [Spirituality & Religion]

Alot of preachers talk heresy these days, to get money and maybe fame. The story goes like this, God created people and then one of his angels fell. That fallen angel decided to fight against God by making people disobey God(fall of man) and sin. We were all doomed to end up in hell because of sin and God cannot dwell amongst sin. He is so holy. Jesus came to die for our sin so we could get a chance to be reconciled to a holy God. That cleared a huge part of the way in making it into heaven again. Now we had to repent of our sins and live holy lives before God inorder to make it into heaven cause without holiness no one will see God. He is so holy that his only son litteraly had to die so we could have a chance. Holiness is the key word here.

How absolutely exhausting it would be, to constantly try to earn God’s favor, before we could be saved. That’s why it takes faith alone to come to God, and works count only after one is saved, yet they are not even for the purpose of winning God’s favor, even then! They are done out of love for God.

@LadyGrace Yes, I agree, I would have used different wording to lead into the point that "Does anyone care about holiness? A lot of preachers talk heresy these days, to get money and maybe fame." But I think that the lack of holiness in the lives of many believers is a definite warning sign in our Christian culture.
I can see your point, but I would even be careful of putting ministers down in her headline. That, I believe, will only serve to turn others away from wanting to attend church. There’s enough people already turning away from the church, without emphasizing SOME minister’s mistakes/sins. Not all should be placed in the same basket. Jesus said, as you know, not to forsake the assembling together of ourselves. It’s a terrible shame that many ministers have turned people AWAY from Christ. Those people whom they’ve turned away, the minister shall have their blood on his or her hands. Shame on these phony ministers.

Warning sign of what in the Christian culture? I don’t see that our culture is Christian anymore. Many have turned away from God, are the lovers of pleasure of any sort, and call good, bad...and bad, good. Jesus said it shall even get far worse before the end. We’re seeing prophecy fulfilled right before our very eyes. Not many seek God these days. That’s very rare. They seek to please their own selfish desires, ignoring God, altogether.

Oh yes... Holiness is very important, but our desire to live a holy life should be our humble response to God's immeasurable grace... We must be careful to not let our desire to live a holy life become the central focus of our life, to the extent that we spend all of our energy trying to clean up our life, and in the end have no fruit to show in the Kingdom. We are made righteous and justified by grace, through faith... Romans 3:21-26
@LadyGrace faith without works is dead, means those people are dead while they think they live. Many people are in hell that thought they would get into heaven. Our old sensitive approach to spreading doesnt seem to work. I would rather tell them the truth upfront. They can do with it what they want but they knew.
Whether saved or not...works play absolutely no part in salvation. That is my point. Proof being in God’s own Word.

It is important to note that works follow faith. Works are a good diagnostic barometer of where our truth faith lies. Our good works in no way relate to our salvation. Paul makes very clear in Ephesians 2 that apart from Christ we are dead in sin (Ephesians 2:4-9); we are therefore incapable of truly good works. However, after our salvation, we can perform the "good works, which God prepared beforehand" (Ephesians 2:10). Works are a fruit of our salvation, not a means by which to earn it.

That being said, once we are saved, we are expected to do good works. We are a reflection of Christ. As such, we do good to those around us (Galatians 6:10). We are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17), so we act in new ways. The works we do should come from a transformed heart. Jesus said that people would know His followers by their love (John 13:35). In this way we are a light to the world (Matthew 5:14). Good works, then, demonstrate the veracity of our faith and the character of the God in Whom we believe.

Faith without works is dead, because true faith transforms a life. It is also true that works without faith are dead. Jesus said that some would call Him "Lord, Lord," but would not enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21-23). This only means that there will be others who will have done works apart from faith, in an effort to save themselves. All our works are as filthy rags to God apart from Christ (Isaiah 64:6). They are tainted by our sin and not sufficient to take us from being dead in our trespasses (Colossians 2:13) to being alive.

When we have true faith in Christ, we are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our lives are transformed and good works are the result. NOT because they save us or keep us saved. Grace is what keeps us saved, lest anyone could boast they saved themselves.

Faith is not intellectual assent only; it involves life change. Our faith is evidenced by the way we live.

@ms20182878 Also, the danger is, that people who try to clean up their lives before they decide they're good enough to face Christ and ask for forgiveness, never make it that far. They feel they'll never be "good enough", then end up lost forever. However,Jesus said come as you are and he will accept you no matter what .

Isaiah 45:7 King James Version (KJV)
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

That verse needs no translation or excuses. It is absolutely clear in it's meaning. This god you speak of created Evil.

@Wraithorn Isaiah 45:7 New International Version (NIV)
"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things."

The verse reads different in the NIV than in the KJV, doesn't it?

It would be good for you to do some research into the original Hebrew text before you make the claim that you made.

It is so common for non-believers to pull single verses out of context and try to make their case based upon that single verse. The Biblical text is much more complex than that, needing to be read in the textual and historical context, and also needing sometimes to be read in the original languages.

@ms20182878 Google Michael Heiser who has a PhD in ancient Hebrew. I read his peer reviewed thesis online. He shows quite clearly using huge amounts of evidence how the original Hebrew bible was intentionally mistranslated in some important places into Greek and English.
One important thing is that the Hebrew bible mentions 71 gods and not just one.

My opinion is that the entire book is not to be trusted.

@Wraithorn Interesting... I did Google Dr. Heiser. If you asked him if God created evil, I'm pretty confident that he would disagree with you on that point.

The Biblical text mentions many gods, for sure. The text is clearly telling us to follow the One True God... not all of the other gods. The text also describes the One True God in many different ways, based upon His attributes. The text needs to be read with a consistent hermeneutic.
the only heaven and the only hell that exists are those make make ourself on earth
@lightshinesthroughdarkness no... there is not... this is all the life we have. better make the best out of it

@Strawberrry I believe in heaven and hell because Jesus did
You better take that up with God, because He disagrees with you. He said so in His Word. Check it out. @Strawberrry
