Did you know that if we don't live a holy life before God we are litteraly doomed? Does anyone care about holiness? [Spirituality & Religion]

Alot of preachers talk heresy these days, to get money and maybe fame. The story goes like this, God created people and then one of his angels fell. That fallen angel decided to fight against God by making people disobey God(fall of man) and sin. We were all doomed to end up in hell because of sin and God cannot dwell amongst sin. He is so holy. Jesus came to die for our sin so we could get a chance to be reconciled to a holy God. That cleared a huge part of the way in making it into heaven again. Now we had to repent of our sins and live holy lives before God inorder to make it into heaven cause without holiness no one will see God. He is so holy that his only son litteraly had to die so we could have a chance. Holiness is the key word here.

How absolutely exhausting it would be, to constantly try to earn God’s favor, before we could be saved. That’s why it takes faith alone to come to God, and works count only after one is saved, yet they are not even for the purpose of winning God’s favor, even then! They are done out of love for God.

@LadyGrace Yes, the sequence is important... we come by faith through grace... then we are sanctified. We definitely need holiness... but we cannot become holy apart from the miraculous transformation done by the Lord in our life. I think that the point of the original post is that we can't ignore the need for holiness in our life... and instead hope to be saved, while living a selfish worldly life.
That’s not the message here. She’s adamant about insisting that works come before we can be accepted by God. God’s Word says differently. A follower of Christ, and new-born in Him, should strive to walk according to His Word, however, the Lord knows we’ll never meet His standard of perfection, and doesn’t expect us to. That’s the very reason Jesus stated that we cannot earn our way to heaven by good works. Romans says our righteousness is as filthy rags, meaning, don’t try to get to heaven by your own standards or merits. It can’t be done, only by grace, through faith. We don’t have to “hope” we’ll be saved. We have that assurance when we come to Jesus, and He forgives us of our sins. There’s no guessing about it. @ms20182878

@LadyGrace I'm totally with you on being saved through grace... my life is ALL about that. But maybe I mis-communicated. What I was trying to say is that, sadly, there are many people who believe that they are saved but they live a completely worldly life. I believe that the original post is saying that, after we are saved, we should make some definite effort to live a holy life.
I understand, however, her very first sentence conveys something different. Either way...saved or not, she’s stating that we are doomed if we don’t live Holy lives before God. That’s not true, even though we know we want to serve Jesus out of love. We can’t do anything to earn our salvation by works, and after we are saved, our position of security is not based on good works. It is Jesus that keeps us, by His grace, not by anything we do. @ms20182878
Romans 8:1 - Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. @ms20182878

@LadyGrace Yes, I agree, I would have used different wording to lead into the point that "Does anyone care about holiness? A lot of preachers talk heresy these days, to get money and maybe fame." But I think that the lack of holiness in the lives of many believers is a definite warning sign in our Christian culture.
I can see your point, but I would even be careful of putting ministers down in her headline. That, I believe, will only serve to turn others away from wanting to attend church. There’s enough people already turning away from the church, without emphasizing SOME minister’s mistakes/sins. Not all should be placed in the same basket. Jesus said, as you know, not to forsake the assembling together of ourselves. It’s a terrible shame that many ministers have turned people AWAY from Christ. Those people whom they’ve turned away, the minister shall have their blood on his or her hands. Shame on these phony ministers.

Warning sign of what in the Christian culture? I don’t see that our culture is Christian anymore. Many have turned away from God, are the lovers of pleasure of any sort, and call good, bad...and bad, good. Jesus said it shall even get far worse before the end. We’re seeing prophecy fulfilled right before our very eyes. Not many seek God these days. That’s very rare. They seek to please their own selfish desires, ignoring God, altogether.

@LadyGrace I totally agree...
