Is it wrong for a Christian to prefer dating within their race? [Spirituality & Religion]

Not because of any racist agendas or they think they are better or worse. Simply because that is what they are attracted to.

I am assuming you meant Race ?
You are aware not all that say Lord are Christians right ?
Christ warned there will be those who say they did all this stuff in His name that He is going to tell them to depart ,He never knew them ?
There is such a thing as fruits of the spirit
and His Children move on from the carnal things and lean more to things not seen then so much worry over things we see ,,
We are cautioned about being unequally yoked (someone who's beliefs are not in line with His teachings or that may cause you problems and culture and heritage could cause problems if not explored and dealt with ,black people and whites do many things differently ,not that either is bad ,its just how each are raised .

He wants us to live at peace with all mankind if possible
And man with no control over his own home is not trusted with bigger responsibilities when it comes to the things of God ,its best they kind of think along the same lines ,at least on spiritual matters .

So you may not know there are wolves in sheep's clothing who's only purpose is to try to bring shame to all that is called Godly ,they make Gods children look bad to others on purpose .so they do not act very Godly ,but just the opposite .

Then we have those who think they are but their fruit and conflict with Gods word show they fool themselves ,
and then down right fakes .they for what ever reason say they are Christs children but deep down they know they are just going through the motions .

So Christ said the number in His church would be a small one

So my point is ,lots of things are done in Gods name that are not of God
I am sure the same applies to choosing a mate and if she is of the same race .

I am attracted right off the bat to someone who loves God as much as I do
The rest is icing on the cake ,,He does want us to be happy
Thats why love makes us blind ,,we don't seem to see as many flaws when we really love someone for who they are ,not who we wish they could be ,or the color of their skin
Some would say God said stick to your own kind ,,Moses married a woman from
Ethiopia ,He was a Hebrew ,not the same kind

@rckt148 Thank you. Of course, I wouldn't go solely on race. They most definitely would have to be a true believer and follower of Christ.
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@sweetiepoo I was raised the races should never mingle ,but I spent most of my life around black people ,and served in service with people from all over the world ,I have friends from all over the world ,I know a lot of mixed couples
But I was offended for a time when I seen a black male with a white girl
but I grew up ,,
Now as long as they are not the same sex ,I am cool
and even same sex ,if that is their bag ,who am I to say who they love
I can tell you what God says about it ,but as long as they are not using a law made to protect their rights to trample on mine ,,they are accountable to God
not me ,my family stands on the word of God ,no ones opinion can change that for me ,no matter what argument they have , God does not care what my opinion is
I am called closed minded about it all the time ,they can't get ,its not up to me

But if I met a commandment keeping woman that was of another race
I am not going to say I would not marry her ,Her heart ,how she loves God
that is whats important to me ,,number one ,will she try to make me compromise my beliefs ,that will make us go back to being just friends a lot faster than a brother of another color trying to run me off LOL
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@rckt148 yes, of course, I support interracial couples. wholeheartedly. I was just saying if I wasn't attracted to a man of a different race for marriage, was it wrong. Of course, he would have to be a believer even if he were green. :-)
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Date whoever you like,it's no ones buisiness.
SW-User
The Christian race is a very fine race.
Christianity isn’t a race
im an Anglican is search of a Scientologist..
Gentlequill · 51-55, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I know a scientologist, but atm she's only interested in jewish trannies that actually still love their dads.
im frugal enough to be a joo.
and i dont hate my dad.. im like 2/3s there..
Gentlequill · 51-55, M
Do not layeth outside of thy own tribes. Fire and tarnations! Henceforth and what not! For the Lord almighty shall send his lucky fireball and destroy again the city od Sodom! Or jacksonville...whichever is closer.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Gentlequill this is irrelevant. He placed those commands on the tribes so that they wouldn't worship false Gods and idols. Not because of the color of their skin.
Gentlequill · 51-55, M
@sweetiepoo I was actually joking about it. I'm well aware of the scripture. Thing is, it doesn't matter what you like. The heart knows what the heart wants. :)
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Gentlequill lol ok. 😉
Ynotisay · M
Of course not. We're attracted to who we're attracted to.
I'd say the problem comes from those who purposefully avoid others solely based on their race. They're missing out.
Classified · M
I've had that for a time, I didn't think anything wrong with personal preference. :)
SW-User
Race doesn't matter. What matters is if he's honest, and sincere. Only time tells that.
SW-User
Their face? I don't understand the question
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SW-User lol I just realized I accidentally said "face". I meant "race" lol. I changed it. :-)
Lostpoet · M
There's Christians in all races.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Lostpoet of course there is.
Northwest · M
Why is this is a religious issue? Are you saying that there's something in Christianity, that prohibits Christians from dating outside their race, ergo your question?
Northwest · M
@sweetiepoo If this is a religion neutral issue, why would you be mentioning religion at all?
MethDozer · M
@Northwest I think her dilemma is that Christians are supposed to be accepting and love all people. Like she is failing her faith by having a bias.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@MethDozer Yeah, kinda, that's right.
BlueRain · F
I’m don’t think it’s wrong.
No it’s not wrong.
Lostpoet · M
Faith? No, especially because most secs believe in spiritual guidance. Why would God have you fall in love with someone that doesn't believe in what you do.
MethDozer · M
@Lostpoet Supposedly he gave us free will and doesn't place us with anyone.
Lostpoet · M
@MethDozer than don't worry about it. :)
SW-User
So,it really has nothing to do with being Christian,it's more about race
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SW-User actually a little of both. If God has a man of another ethnicity for me and I'm looking elsewhere?
What does being a christian have to do with what race were attracted to?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I don't see what religion has to do with what race you do or do not favor. Liking someone based on skin color is not much different than liking them based on weight. It'd be great if people could rise above such judgements, but it's only normal for now to have some things.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@ViciDraco you're right. It's just that I wonder if God may have someone else for me than what I am attracted to, that's all. I wasn't trying to make it overly religious.
In the old days anti-miscegenation laws were justified by the Christian Right by the Scripture that teaches against being “unequally yoked”.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Unequally yoked doesn't apply to ethnicity though. It is a believer/unbeliever. And sometimes even the level of spiritualities.
@sweetiepoo I’m just telling you how they interpreted it. I remember, unfortunately.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard You are absolutely right. That is unfortunate.
