Hello, my creationist friends. Have any of y'all considered how much easier it would be to defend creationism if you espoused a fallible god? [Spirituality & Religion]

God being a dickface does make things a bit more consistent.

@Pikachuthere's no circular reasoning, if you want God's blessing,forgiveness and peace in your life you'll have to believe He exists. If you've already decided He doesn't then He can't bless you
@TheWildEcho

lol that is a perfect example of circular reasoning.

I have to believe in god to get his blessing but i can't believe in god without his blessing.

But let's forget that. I asked you a specific question and i'd appreciate it if you showed me the respect of answering it specifically:
How do i repent my unbelief if i do not believe it to be in error?
Note: "I don't know" is an acceptable answer.

@Pikachu I will answer your question.....the scriptures say to seek Him in diligence with a seeking heart and you will find Him. This heart that a person is to seek Him with is of being contrite and humble. Jesus will not turn any away from Him who come to Him this way....What is happening with you my friend is this very thing Jesus was confronted with when He was here-

"23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. 24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, 25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man." (John 2:23-25)

This was a recurring theme in His 3 years of ministry. People wanted sign after sign after sign, yet had no desire to count the cost and follow Him. Many died in their sins because they would not HEAR Him.

It isn't that the atheist, as you mentioned in another post, is afraid to believe in God. It's what Jesus said here-

"19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." (John 3:19-20)

It's why a person would rather have a fallable God so that he wouldn't be accountable to Him. But in closing, here is what the scriptures say to those who "reason Him away"-

"18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. " (Romans 1:18-22)

"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." (Hebrews 11:3)

Do you suppose it would be easier to support evolution if you could just get it started?
@hippyjoe1955

I don't think i've assumed anything, joe.
I pointed out that it is easier to defend the idea of a fallible god and it is. This does not mean that one cannot imagine reasons why a perfect god would do kind of a shit poor job in some respects.
I'm not sure why you leaped to the conclusion that i'm assuming anything about god.

But i appreciate you conceding the point about evolution being dependent on abiogenesis. Or so i must assume since you neglected to include any rebuttal or criticism of my explanation.
Although i am pleased that you returned to the subject🙂
Much like the crew on the warehouse floor of a multibillion dollar company knowing better how to run the company that the person who started it and built it out of nothing are numpties that think an imperfect world means it must not be built by a Perfect God
Well, i don't know what numpties are, but isn't the entire point of the show Undercover Bosses, that the CEOs don't get how the business actually works and they learn how to improve it?

Just seems like kind of a weak analogy

@hippyjoe1955 Nah, we know it started somehow. That's enough.

Like it can be pretty hard to explain many of the things in this world and with life on the planet if you need to believe that god is infallible and perfect.
It would be a lot easier to defend a god who was capable of just really doing a bad job on some things.
