The cafe across the street has something new—Karaoke !
Occasionally, when there are professional musicians performing, that’s nice to hear. But hearing someone (a man) who sounds "three sheets to the wind" screeching "Material Girl", not so much.
Omg! I feel your pain here! My apartment senior year of university was a third floor unit across the street from a karaoke bar. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ And you know I'm an early to bed early to rise kinda person. It was awful.
@bijouxbroussard I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Seems like in a city like SF, there’d be laws regulating that type of thing for entertainment venues.
@bijouxbroussard And I can't get used to the concept that these days high school kids prefer to have a DJ playing with CDs. "Back in the day" that would have been tacky, we always had live bands at school dances.
@ChipmunkErnie Yep, that’s my memory as well. Very briefly, I played keyboards with a local "metal" band. Our lead’s vocals on "Stairway To Heaven" weren’t bad at all. 😄
@samueltyler2 That sounds like the way they’re doing it. By the end of the evening I heard several people singing together. Then applause and cheers, and it was over—probably until tonight. 🙄
@bijouxbroussard Although, my girlfriend actually does believe she sounds good, so kinda awkward. She got me on stage to sing "Summer Nights" with her.
