Not 'better' but... this cover of Le Premier Bonheur du Jour by Lea Desandre from a few years ago is just as good as the Françoise Hardy original from 1963. And while the arrangement on the original isn't exactly fussy, on the cover there is just a voice...and a lute. Nothing else!
