Yes we are all bored of talking about Meghan but... [I Got Something To Say]

Bit tired of the rhetoric, much of it ill-informed. Remember .. saying something doesn't make it true! Harry he has openly spoken of his regret at leaving and how he will miss his duties. It's clear he was torn between his country, his love for his grandmother and the job he was raised to do, enjoyed and did very well until now.. and the love for his wife.. I am sure he had mixed feelings but he has expressed regret at leaving - so the trapped story doesn't wash and to me it's more likely he's trapped by something other than the monarchy.

Personally if they want to go away, I can live with that, it's sad, I'd have prefered they stay and work it out but if they want anonymity they need not to be blabbing to anyone who will listen! We know what Meghan said as they have reported what she said.. and our press do report accurately and I am afraid things are just not as she said them.. for instance..
-There have been NO racist remarks in the newspapers here. none.
- Any racist remarks were not in the mainstream, and regardless of where they were they are illegal.
- Yes, illegal! Rightly so!!
- Yes the press at times have vilified her.. but they've done the same to other celebs and other royal brides..
- look at Diana
- Look at Fergie.. all those have suffered badly in the press.
- And even Kate has had her fair share of nastiness
- Remember before you judge the Brit press - about the kinds of things American newpapers write about people...
- Remember racist remarks aren't illegal there
- Remarks on Twitter etc.. may be racist.. they too are illegal. but they are not within the control of the monarchy..
- no one can stop every nasty remark - but it doesn't mean it's racist or worse for her than anyone else.
- There have been many lovely and flattering remarks in the newspapers same with Kate etc
- Same with any celeb - it's never all nice..
- The British people in general demonstrated many love her.
- No one's ever 100% popular
- Yes they seem to like Kate better but then again Kate is a very different person, dignified and likeable.
- her wedding was very well attended by the public..
- Kids hugged her, people cheered and adored whenever she performed duties
- Archie has not been denied a title. he'd be a lord.. or Duke.. is that not good enough?
- He would also be a Prince if Charles becomes king as the grandson of the monarch..
- other than that the title Prince is strictly in terms of succession and he is down the line a bit.. no nastiness - just inheritance and protocol.
- As to security. . UK is a whole lot safer than pretty much anywhere in the US..
- so if she were afraid for her life or her child's she'd have stayed in the UK
- If she wanted security - she'd have stayed in the UK
- Important to know the UK people pay for that protection in their taxes.
- It isn't the monarchy who pay for it and it wasn't the monarchy who removed the security
- Most of the UK public don't mind paying for security for royals that are working and doing the job we pay them for.
- Remember WE pay their wages.. literally... they are paid to do a job
- If they choose not to do the job and to move away they CANNOT expect the UK people to pay for their protection!!!

Personally, I don't like her.. I didn't from the first time I saw her.. she looks manipulative to me. I only learned about her rep after that.. and there's enough there to support that idea and *that* comes from her homeland. Does that make me racist? No, so this virtue signalling and playing the racist card here is inappropriate and it doesn't wash.
- Are Brits perfect NO, is there racism here - YES - should we step up and keep working to eliminate it YES but honestly people shouting racism when it isn't are really not helping any cause.
PS no need to reply.. I just wanted to get my thoughts out there..

Is whatever the royal family members do actually a job?

@RedBaron Well that's a debatable point. But they do get paid to perform official duties and to represent the UK around the world on official tours and in meeting and greeting dignitaries.
Whether they are worth the money we pay, well that's debateable.
