So for those of you that don't know, this is how you translate Alaskanese to regular American, in matters of distance

It's best to visit in the summer if you don't like snow and cold. If you wanna see how beautiful it can be in winter, come up around Christmas time 🙂

@SW-User Appreciate that. It's a place I'm considering later this year for a backpacking trip and Sept. was my window. No issues with cold but flying insects? No so much. :)

@SW-User I have gotten swarmed by mosquitoes on the Kenai Peninsula in June before. Will they be out as early as April in Anchorage?

@SW-User I tried to drive to Seward the day after and almost went car sledding on the pass. I turned back about half way through. 😬
I'll save that for April, maybe they'll have some whale watching tours going on.
