@EldritchFox Like "Men's Rights" groups, or "Boomers who don't understand why their kids went no contact"
@Akimbo75 I was curious what rights men don't have in any/every culture. And the only right any man on the whole planet doesn't have is the right to opt out of responsibility of their child(ren). They have to at least pay child support.

That's it 😑

@Catastrophe 💕💕💕 If we agreed about everything, we would be SO BORING!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
@4meAndyou true! 🥰
@4meAndyou You were not the inspiration for this! I promise. We do disagree (primarily on Islam) but it's all good. 🥰
MrSmartyPants · 46-50, M
Totally agree!!
Orphic · F
Wish they do that I really do , but I think in SW it's not going to happen.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I need to observe this more.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
True. I found a great deal of inner peace when I stopped caring what other people thought.
@DunningKruger Yeah, it's a waste of time. People like that are going to believe what they want. If they were truly firm in their beliefs, they wouldn't need to force it on other people/insult them, they'd be quietly confident. I feel the need to be honest and that really pisses people off. It doesn't matter to me, that's on their end. Also, I am always willing to look at something a different way, if someone is respectful. No one can fool me because I've been there, done that. I'm not perfect, just learned over time.
This is part of why I no longer engage with a well respected user on here. Extremely volatile and disrespectful. I have no interest in it.
H1raeth · 41-45, M
Sometimes. Don't let anyone make you feel like rubbish though. They have no right to lie about you.
@H1raeth Thank you. I truly appreciate this.🤗
H1raeth · 41-45, M
@Catastrophe God bless you <3
If I've blocked some here, perhaps a friend you had no problem with. I've done so because I feel they were disrespectful to me or other people. Or they were crossing boundaries that any reasonable person shouldn't have crossed. I can't allow wickedness into my realm anymore. Drama also follows some here. For example, one person was basically demanding I respect them for their sexual preferences (ie kinks), other evil trolls followed them (ARE THEM?) berating me. Sorry, you're a stranger to me, you mean nothing to me, I'm not putting up with that. Talk shit all you want about me but I'm protecting my peace, whether you like that or not, whether you agree with me or not. That's the last warning I'll give.I want to be around good, peaceful people that lift each other up, not tear them down.

So then you don't believe what you said on your previous post?

Catastrophe · New
We all have a right to our own opinions here.

One thing I defo have realized though, is how very often people project.
@Magenta Nothing I've said contradicts that. Perhaps you don't understand the difference between an opinion and abuse? That is very common with people who come from abusive backgrounds.

You're free to block me, if you don't like me. You're clearly salty about something I've already forgotten.
acpguy · C
@Magenta Having an opinion is different than twisting facts to suit your own goals. And arguing a point that is wrong is different than expressing an opinion.
@Magenta Projection is in all our everyday lives, forced on us by advertisers constantly. Mosquitoes will kill you, rats spread disease, toe fungus will never go away, those are all projections. It's everywhere. Used to promote certain business sections. How about EV cars only last 10 years.. another projection.
Honestly, if someone starts getting nasty or mad the moment you disagree or make a valid point, just check out. It’s a huge red flag that they’re just conversational narcissists who only care about being right even when they are wrong.
Yeah, online, I'm not wasting my time anymore, I just insta-block. I used to think I'll be nice, maybe they will come around but they don't. It's just extremely boring at this point. With my friends, I'm trying to give more chances... sometimes I think the world is doomed now. Civil discussions are a thing of the past.
If a person can't treat someone that they disagree with, with respect, their opinion means nothing

Wise words but so tough to follow.
@rinkydinkydoink I find it has to do with respect. It's all about respect. If someone charges at me, OR others, for having a different view than them, then I instantly lose respect for them to the point that nothing they say really matters. If I simply disagree with something but that person is respectful (and therefore worthy of respect)... it's a entirely different situation and I enjoy being challenged with new ways of viewing things.
Brainwashing has a huge effect on peoples thoughts. Like religion, if you believe there is a god there is nothing anyone can say to change your mind. Same with family relationships, if your father beats your mother, chances are you will beat your wife as well. It isn't logical but it is ingrained deep, and rarely changes.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@BlueVeins You get the range here don't you? lol
Northwest · M
Have you realized yet... that disrespectful/combative people's opinions don't matter?

I mostly hit delete here on SW. No matter how hard they try. There are ways to ignore them in real life as well.
I get what you’re saying, but there are some opinions that are difficult to treat respectfully, especially when they come from a place of ignorance (or worse, bigotry). 🤔

In the past, if I thought a person’s beliefs were simply based upon not knowing the facts, I might provide them. Nowadays I’m more likely to just say "um hmm" and move on. 🙂
@bijouxbroussard Well, sure. A lot of what people call bigotry today is up for debate.

I indirectly called myself neurodivergent and many charged at me, saying it's a label etc. etc. Well, that's fine, but scientific evidence shows otherwise. Is that ignorant bigotry?

On the other hand, there is someone here that randomly started talking about cross-dressing. That's not something I am interested in, I don't feel comfortable with it, and it wasn't pertinent to the conversation. I grew up around gay people, many of them think it's homophobic behaviour. It crosses women's boundaries too. A knee jerk reaction - you're a bigot! I'm not though, I am fully aware and have studied the situation in depth. I respect boundaries and those who do not aren't worthy of respect. .

What I won't tolerate is racism and sexism. That isn't a choice.
@Catastrophe
That last sentence is my bottom line as well.

I’m a senior and have seen lots of things and ideas change and evolve during my lifetime. In many cases, even the science as was previously believed has been updated.

I admit that much of it I don’t always understand but I’m willing to be educated.
@bijouxbroussard I really respect your openness to seeing different points of view. Your mind is more scientific than many who think they are the authority on everything (I grew up with a quantum physicist that drilled the scientific method into me lol). You're right too.. like about eggs and how they were demonized by scientists in the past.
Mudkip · M
Fr, many people here have the emotional maturity of a child. I've replied to posts and literally have three, four users throwing insults at me because they disagree with my view.
@Mudkip This behaviour has to change in our society. It's really keeping/making people ignorant . Such a shame. I want to be on the positive side of life, not tearing people down but building them up!
Mudkip · M
@Catastrophe yes, I agree with you. I've been called a republican, Trump supporter, right winger (list goes on) for simply having a different view. It is always the same users that have this gang mentality, one replies to me and the rest come marching like a calvary to defend their ill-informed peer. Shame that civil discussion seems like something from the past.
@Mudkip We can change that! It all starts with us. 🤗

Likes mean nothing on social media... people are always going to find people with the same opinion, even if they're wrong. Happened in Nazi Germany too. I happen to be one of those people that sees Trump's ignorant side/choices but ALSO I see the good things he has done, as well. Uh oh many hate me now. I was also just called a democrat? lolol I'm not even American. Silly people.
