Discipline & Parenting
Since when did the words ‘discipline’ and ‘parenting’ become synonymous with abuse?
I’m genuinely curious.
Often, when a parent mentions correcting a child’s poor behaviour they are castigated and condemned. The assumption is that they are abusive, even when there is no evidence to suggest this is the case. Is this acceptable or logical?
If children aren’t taught that ignoring rules leads to consequences, what happens when they become adults and are subject to society’s laws and expectations?
If you’re tempted to called me manner of vile things for making this post, I respectfully ask that you read it carefully. I have not stated a single opinion. I’m asking questions.
