@HeartlessLove What triggered you changing? I mean it was a choice, of course. But what made you choose it if I may ask?

We are different and so you can't compare different things, it's unfair to both. We're equally given different kinds of pressures from expectations, society and stereotypes...
We're left freer in different fields.
We mature differently. We have different periods' wavelengths. Like, women and men reach different peaks at their 20s, 30s, .. 50s etc..
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@being This is true, but I think many men at least seem immature to many women in their early 20'ies for example. Then later in life, I feel like it becomes the other way around, but in truth we're just different as you described.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
I think it is often true, and that's why the trove is used in movies etc. As with everything else, there are of course exceptions.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Nightwings Makes sense. I wanna meet the exceptions haha.
Mordechai · 31-35, M
We do take longer to mature in that sense, it's in our blood to take risks and we have a lot of testosterone. We react differently and we're emotionally different. Men can react strongly to things but it's just who we are.

It's why women like older guys, we generally figure things out in our 20s and mature at 30. At least that's how my experience has proven.
Having said that though there's definitely subjectivity in your experience and I can say I dont make decisions out of spite.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Mordechai I can't comment for all women. But some of us do look for maturity.

If I may ask, at what age did you figure things out as you called it? What brought it on?
twistedrope · 26-30, M
Women generally have it harder than men so, I can see why they would mature faster. As a man, I find the thought quite horrifying for random strangers to stare at me as they drive in their car for my entire life. To have my freedom to decide how I feel about things forced on me. In this case, the woman gets sharpened.
being · 36-40, F
@twistedrope you are right indeed. Yet I believe men have it equally hard, just at different fields. For example, I'm comfortable in the unwritten law where none is supposed to be attacking a woman. It happens yes, but as a general rule, I feel protected. I can't imagine how it'd be like living in a world where the idea of being beaten or killed even would be seen as a natural sacrifice demanded by circumstances (wars, attacks, etc)..

Women mature earlier
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 Certainly seems like it.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't know, sometimes I feel like women are more anxious and conscientious, therefore more reliable but in the end men often end up better off anyway.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover Salary wise, there is inequality in the business world. Even when women do things better, they get paid less than when men do the exact same things.

As for the others that are based on feelings, I'd say it depends on the experience.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Yes. Both physically and mentally.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@AthrillatheHunt At what age did you feel you matured if I may ask? What triggered it on?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Casheyane 51. lol
MissD10 · F
Yes women do mature earlier than men and men often retain some of their boyish ways even after they have matured.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@MissD10 Would you say it's a nature thing or a parental thing?
MissD10 · F
@Casheyane I would think it is a nature based result. There are 6 different classes of hormones that impacts the developing brain, girls often mature earlier than boys due to hormonal and biological factors. Girls typically start puberty earlier than boys, usually around ages 9-11, while boys may start around ages 11-13. This difference is primarily influenced by hormonal changes that trigger physical and emotional development. However, it's important to note that individual variations exist, and not everyone follows the same timeline.
Puttywood · 61-69, M
Sounds to me like you haven't matured yet. In the real world there are no perfect men that you are looking for. Or women for that matter. Women are dreamers ,always looking for more,better never enough. Relax and enjoy life
Lostpoet · M
I think there are people like that, but there are a lot more immature people than there are responsible successful people.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Lostpoet Maybe.
Some men remain juvenile all their lives. They're called fun loving. Some women stay juvenile all their lives. They're diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
