Some of the drama I see on here is exactly why I don't share my personal contact info with anyone

You get close enough with someone to get more personal by sharing your phone number, social media, etc. only for things to end up falling apart between you two. Next thing you know, they're stalking and harassing you and just making shit miserable for you. And it's not so easy to get rid of them now because you've let them into your life!

That's why I keep all online relationships just that: online. Sure enough, I've had people I was very close with for a long time end up screwing me over and a few have turned out to be very toxic individuals who would probably be doing all they could to harm me directly, if they could. But they can't because I never actually let them into my life, so they don't have that leverage.

If only more people would do the same. I understand if you may like someone online well enough that you may really want to get more personal with them, but you shouldn't. It may suck and you may feel like you're missing out, but at least you can be at ease knowing no one can do you any real harm because you haven't given them the ability to do so.

Hell, I don't even tell people my first name on social media. You won't find my real name anywhere.
