How long do you think of them?

You probably have someone in the past you loved a lot, but eventually realized ( for whatever reason) this person wasn't yours to have, and it ended. Normal.

I'm always surprised that years can pass without too much thought about it, you are living a full life with new great stuff in it,and then suddenly you miss them.

How long do you think about the ones you leave behind?

I wonder who he's torturing now 🤔

@SW-User hahaha🤣

On my good days, that's exactly what I tell myself

DrWatson · 70-79, M
There was a woman who I thought would be "the one", and I was devastated when she broke up with me and soon married someone else.

But that was over 40 years ago. Sure, I remember her from time to time, but the memories stopped tormenting me a long time ago.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@DrWatson Good. I'm glad that memories don't bring you pain, you can just remember her.
originnone · 61-69, M
Life has great stuff? Where?.....I still miss my mother terribly....10 years.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@originnone so sorry for your loss🌺
Carissimi · 70-79, F
It depends on if you mean grieve for them, and missing them, or do you mean after healing (although some things never heal completely)? I never forget people who meant a lot to me, even years and decades letter. It just hits you out of the blue. I suppose it’s something triggering an association in your subconscious mind, and it brings the memory of a person into consciousness.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@Carissimi yes, like time has gone by, and you've grown up enough to know not everything you want is yours to have. That's good enough for your brain, until you go somewhere or see something, hear a song, and they are THERE ugh sigh
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Years. I have a trauma brain.
cycleman · 61-69, M
I am thankful she and I connected for a couple of yrs some 40yrs ago.
In ways I wish we were still together, but then she wouldn't have had a great life she has had with her husband for the previous 38yrs.
As I said, I am Thankful for knowing her. She is special and always will be. I need not talk nor reminisce with her.
I think of them often. When caring for someone is unconditional, the caring never ends, so the reminders of them never ends. Regardless of the circumstances of how my relationships ended, I always care and remember.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@PhoenixPhail me too. 🙂

{@elizajane] i still have feelings for a girl i fancied in 1984 and i have never let her out of my mind as she was the first girl i ever really felt something for . i know i should let it go after all this time but there is something inside me though there has a lot of water now gone under the bridge . i do want too sound a creep and i mean no harm with this but i havefound her on facebook and listen too certain songs whilst her picture is in front of my eyes
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@smiler2012 I completely get it.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Depends how much of myself I gave to them. I’ve gotten better with it, but still takes too much time.

There is no limit. When someone has touched you, changed you, there will always be a mark.
Forever.
Especially when they kept you captive in a nuclear family for twenty years, hung their own name on you and then kicked you to the curb and maintained that you deserve to die, poor and alone.
You know - Family.
I still talk and look like him. He's always in my memory. Every Christmas there's no room at the inn and I pictured him feasting and happy.
dominateofyou · 61-69, M
One i loved broke up with me it took almost 5 years to recover,but i did and still think fondly of her she got married 2 years later .its been over 15 years i still remember her in flash backs when some one starts tanking about lost love.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F

I think about them once in awhile when I recall a fond memory. Then I silently wish them much success, health and happiness.
ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@Scribbles healthy!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I think you always remember them. Always will be a part of your past. A part of you. Just doesn't really hurt as time goes
pentacorn · F

ElizaJane · 51-55, F
@pentacorn sometimes that does not seem fair.
