Uncertainty (Rant)

This morning I found out that I lost my gold ring at an auditorium and I don't think there's any way to get it back. I'm so fricking scared of what my parents might say once they realise. And it feels like everything is coming at me all at once. Years of hearing my parents call me irresponsible and careless.. I feel like I keep conforming their beliefs about me no matter how much I try to prove them wrong. I feel like I can't talk to anyone about how I feel. And I feel shit. I feel so very shit. I don't think there's anything left for me here. My partner is going through kind of a hard time so I really don't want to make it worse for him by crying over it. But I wish there were people who gave a damn about me?? I just pretty much feel like Catra from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. And what's funny is, I once was pretty much like Adora. I just don't know what to do tbh. I'm really tired. And all of this rambling is just an attempt to lighten the burden but yeah.

UPDATE: I FOUND MY RING AND I'M SO RELIEVED NOW. I ALMOST CRIED. Thank you sooooooo much y'all. I really appreciate the kind replies 🥺❤️

Perhaps one of the hardest things to do as a young adult is learn to separate from the messages we got growing up. When I was in my late teens I was always told "You're like a bull in a china shop", "You're clumsy", "You can't still" and so on. Yeah, sometimes I wondered if I was living out that script. What I eventually learned is nobody will ever have perfect parenting. But you can look at yourself in the mirror and learn to like what you see. Because it is good! Our magic magnifying minds make it otherwise.

You lost the ring. It happens. We all make mistakes and you'll make more as time goes on. No matter what happens over the ring, believe that you are NOT a mistake! :) Don't beat yourself up over it. Maybe say "Crap, it's gone, what could I do differently next time?".

There's a lot to be said about people who put unneeded pressure on their kids. A short story. I was at someones house and her kid, only 2 or 3 starts going downstairs. She yells, Don't Fall Down The Stairs! You can guess what happened next. Be honest tell your parents you list the ring but if they start in on being careless tell them how that makes you feel.

@Pitchblue thank you so much for your comment <33 And yeah it can be really overwhelming. I, fortunately, found my ring though. So phew I don't have to face them. (Spoiler alert: it was on my sofa. Prolly would've fallen out of the sling bag after I returned home)

@smiler2012 I asked a friend if she could contact them. Since it was her event. She told me that they prolly cleaned it and I didn't hear anything from her after that :((
