I definitely know the feeling. A small "Thank you" would have been nice but unfortunately you have people that still act like children even in their adult age.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Barefooter25 i agree!
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@akindheart Years ago at my job, our former marketing director was leaving and moving back to Chicago. She was giving out various personal items to us. She offered to give me a bottle of scotch. I told her thank you and that I have a friend who enjoys scotch and soda. She immediately got upset and snapped by saying if you are not going to drink it, I will give it to someone else. The lady acted like a petulant child.

Courtesy, or the attempt not to hurt the other person's feeling is something that's indeed lacking today. Once, in the 1960s it was so self-evident that one would hear a parent tell a child anywhere to say thank you. What's wrong now? Try everything. Even tv-program personalities becoming too big for their own boots. I'm so sorry that it happened to you. I know of a recent happening that is even worse. Someone wrote out very old-fashioned Church of England Easter cards and gave them to every parshioner last sunday. On a social media app everyone got a thank you except her. Somehow it's now proper for even a christian to get so mean because of envy

@val70 i also noted that people don't send out thank yous for wedding or shower gifts? i don't get it.
jim44444 · 70-79, M
A simple thank you seems to be a bar too high for many people.
Are they rude or just clueless?

I keep stressing manners to my grandkids. Not the performative style but the manners that recognize the needs of others. Hopefully it sinks in.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@jim44444 hey my friend...i was sending gifts to my granddaughters for years. not one thank you. so i finally stopped. no more gifts
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
I totally agree with you and believe me I appreciate you and your kindness as well.🤗💐
akindheart · 61-69, F
@WillaKissing and i feel the same for you. working on more to send you!
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@akindheart I know I want to say you do not have to do that, but with your heart that you have I know it would not do any good to tell you that you do not have too to do that. 🤗 Thank you in advance.

Could the postal workers have stolen them? I'm just thinking maybe they heard/felt coins in the envelope/package and stole em...
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Matt85 when she typed in her address, she gave me the wrong zip code. so i corrected that and told her the box was coming. they received it.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Matt85 Postal workers pilfering the mail? Notify the inspection service. They're serious about thefts from the mail. Their authority is nationwide and they DO NOT PLAY.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Crazywaterspring no i know it was not that. the people i sent the coins to never let me know nor did they thank me for the box
Maybe you shouldn’t just assume she’s received them. Maybe it got to her address but they have gone away.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Gingerbreadspice no they received them and THEN thanked me after i reached out to them.
YoMomma ·
I guess you could write her a letter and ask if she got them? 😒
akindheart · 61-69, F
@YoMomma i texted her and sure enough he received them and then they thanked me.
YoMomma ·
@akindheart ok good ☺
SmoothKnight · 51-55, M
Nothing wrong with showing appreciation for a good deed. Unfortunately, many people act like it's no big deal....
sarabee1995 · 26-30, FVIP
Please and Thank You are so important. 😔
akindheart · 61-69, F
@sarabee1995 my point exactly! I sure don't get it.
Maybe worth giving her a nudge to see if she's seen them?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic yes i did. she had typed in her zipcode incorrectly and i at first assumed maybe she didn't want to give me her real address so I reached out and s ure enough they received it.
@akindheart Well, atleast it was a nice thing of you to do, sadly not everyone is greatful.
people never thank me after they watch blue lock season 2 and it's honestly getting really disheartening. i suffer from kidney stones
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Assuming they were received that is very rude.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 i at first thought they were lost. so i texted to see if she received them and she said yes.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@akindheart Very rude on their part.
myotherlife · 61-69, M
Wow , that is tacky
Lilnonames · F
I agree, sad but true now
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Lilnonames makes you want to rethink being nice right? plus it cost me 13.00 to send them
daddybloke · 46-50, M
just modern day ignorance
akindheart · 61-69, F
@daddybloke yes it is.
