Sorry if you've been hurt there.
A lie is also bad character, but your point is still quite powerful.
People who lie say, everyone lies. I don't. I do remember the last time I lied, exact moment. I've never lied since, and I discovered honestly is not only scary, it is incredibly powerful. It has cost me some money (my integrity is worth more than the money), but won me complete intimacy with another human being. Not quite ever possible if you aren't honest.

@CheerfullyCurious The one talk I made sure I had with my daughter was, how to pick a decent guy. She did!
Trust is an infinitely fragile, infinitely beautiful thing. It should be treated as a sacred object.

@Abstraction i believe trust is earned . Glad she found a decent guy and listened to daddy’s advice.

@CheerfullyCurious trust is earnt, yes, agree.
And my advice was about how to see someone's character, because good intentions from shallow people are hard to trust in the long run. I think I wrote up my advice to my daughter here somewhere.

;( Someone keeps breaking their promise to me!

Sorry about that. @RadiantRuby

Except if you die trying to fulfill said promise.
CheerfullyCurious · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 people should not make promises they cant keep.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CheerfullyCurious People should only make promises they intend on keeping. Sometimes life and reality prevents us from keeping them and those who received the promise should be understanding enough to know that.
CheerfullyCurious · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 i understand what you are saying but if you make a promise you should at least try your best to keep it - not simply broke it because you feel like it or it is more convenient for you.

Feeling a little cynical?
CheerfullyCurious · 46-50, F

@CheerfullyCurious I guessed that... It's okay 🙃 I'd help any way I could but I too can be cynical
